We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel was 5 min from a beach and close to many restaurants and markets. The room could have used a coat of paint but it was clean, nice beds, good sized bathroom with lots of hot water. Lovely swimming pool. Breakfast was included and was good with a varied menu. Staff were wonderful especially Gerardo on the reception desk, Lenin and Perla in the restaurant, Adriana who cleaned our room and maintenance staff were polite and pleasant. There is also an outdoor evening restaurant but service was slow and food average. There was an outdoor terrace outside the room and easy to meet other guests and enjoy the heat!

Two girlfriends and I stayed at ZhiuaCaracol in Feb 2019 for the first time. Was a little shocked at the rooms, the hotel is very old and the rooms could use an update but the plentiful hot water was appreciated. After a day we were in love with the area- Calle Adelita and Madera beach. The staff were great, very friendly the breakfast each day was awesome. Tried the rooftop restaurant one evening and were impressed. Food and drinks were great. The best part of the hotel was the pool. Used that a lot after walking back from centro each day. Early morning coffee could be found just down the street and it was the best coffee I have ever had. After staying in centro for several years the peaceful quiet nights were wonderful. Felt very secure in the hotel. The main drawback to the hotel is not having fridges in the rooms.

I found it very expensive for what was offered. Glad we had our paperwork with at check-in. Desk clerk wanted 400 more peso's. When I had paid on line in full. No view. Looked like a nice pool we did not use it. On the good side of our stay, we did eat at the restaurant. This view was beautiful looking out and seeing the bay of Zih. and the food was excellent. Thank you to that staff.

Booked online thru Expedia, seamless booking. Given 3rd floor room away from the street and overlooking pool. Not perfectly clean but still ok. Small old pillows, hard to get more, told by front desk to wait till next day though there were other staff around so we asked them. As most flights from N. America come in at late aft. It would be good if they had more night staff. Pool nice and area around it nice though lacking shade. Areas to sit outside each room great! Breakfast included was great and service and hours for this excellent! Very short walk to beach. No costs added at check out :o). Some other were loud partiers on first night and kept many others awake, this should have been addressed asap by staff. Stairs are required for rooms, breakfast, check in and pool. Stayed 2 nights.

As this was my first time visiting Mexico I really don't have much to compare. But I did go see other hotels in this area and must say that my stay at Caracol was lacking. The rooms are very sparse. The rooftop bar didn't open til 6:30. The pool is wonderful. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Great location and peaceful.
