Seriously dropped in quality and standards

Unfortunately this wasn't a great stay at all. Thinking about it now we should've gone to Premier Inn but we wanted to spoil ourselves. Room: Courtyard room. Don't book this room if you need to carry your suitcases up and down the stairs, through an elevator and then more stairs. Room was ok however there was no cleaning/tidying up service at all. By the end of it we didn't even have coffee capsules ( which we only originally had 3), cups or water in the mini fridge. Breakfast: We paid quite a bit and we had complimentary breakfast included, however if you're not psychic you should know you need to book it way ahead of time - otherwise we couldnt make it to breakfast which was automatically assigned to us at 8am. Spa pools: again had to make sure to book this slot too. Bar area: very very small bar area with only one bartender serving a list of sophisticated cocktails which don't get me wrong they were great but you had a waiting list of at least 30min if you didn't get there super early. I think i've only seen 3 staff people in total. At least don't charge the same price if you're incapable of providing the actual services.

Poor poor service

Reviewed 29 november, 2021

They have a shortage of staff AND a poor system to allow front desk persons to see incoming service calls while they have to do something else. We tried to call reception, restaurant, concierge, room service yesterday evening, this morning and nobody would pick up the call!

Great Hotel in the centre of Bath

Reviewed 28 november, 2021

The location is great, right in the centre of Bath. The staff were really helpful with things like restaurant bookings and the spa was great after cold winter days. The cocktails in the hotel bar were fantastic - we felt very well looked after.

Well situated

Reviewed 28 november, 2021

The hotel is well situated, but far enough away from centre of town noise. The room was well decorated, high ceilings and lots of windows. 10/10 for the plentiful amount of packing space! The room was well sound proofed so we could not hear other people in their rooms or bathrooms. Loved the showers - the water was wonderfully hot with good pressure, the ultimate treat for me. Commendation to all the staff who were most friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a superb cocktail on the house at the bar. The spa area was lovely with warm spring water pools. There was not much place to sit and wait to dry off but the changing room had a swimming costume spinner to dry it off. The negatives - sadly the bed was most uncomfortable, being fairly narrow and extremely badly sprung which resulted in me being bounced awake each time my husband turned over. My husband, being heavier than I, meant I was very tilted over when lying facing him, this was very uncomfortable and we did not have a single good night's sleep. The lighting was ambient but no good lighting to do makeup! There was a free standing mirror but the hairdryer kept knocking the phone off its hook. Very badly designed. The breakfast is shockingly overpriced! The first time I have had to choose between a cooked breakfast fruit & yoghurt. The ingredients were good and the coffee fantastic, but not worth the money. We did not have breakfast there again there are numerous other places to have excellent breakfasts for far less.

Good quality hotel with a nice spa and thermal pool overall a very nice hotel in a beautiful city.

Lovely hotel with an amazing thermal spa which is small but very nice. The breakfast in the hotel was 10/10 absolutely fantastic. The hotel bar in the evening was also quite nice, the hotel room was quite good the only let down was the restaurant in the hotel was closed and apparently it has been closed now for quite some time which was a disappointment.
