The owners of this house are so friendly and helpful! I also quite like this place, cozy, and so close to the Uni, (the opposite die of the school) also, I highly recommend the breakfast. Soo delicious! Will come back for visiting!
Comfortable
Location was excellent for the university... The interior of the property is a bit dated but room was clean and comfortable.. thankfully room was at back so didn’t get noise of busy road out front.. only noise was door handles which squeaked loudly which a drop of WD 40 would sort out and room beside me the door didn’t shut easily so guest had to ram it closed! Shared bathroom downstairs very tiny but clean. Some small improvements could make this better B&B. Host Mary and husband are absolutely lovely
Awesome stay in Aberdeen
Hostess Mary is good and a great cook. There is a choice from English, Scottish and Malaysian breakfast. All of them are wonderful and delicious! The house is lovely and beautiful. It is just opposite the University of Aberdeen. A quiet and relaxing place. Our room is tidy and clean with comfortable beds and pillows. Thanks for making us feel very welcome !
Disappointed
Pros: very nice owners. Breakfast Cons : Overrated on Booking.com. Small room. Too congested. Tawdry. No tissues in room. Half filled bottles toilet amenities. Decor shabby. Across the street from U. of Aberdeen. One pub in area (made for college students). Not conveniently located even for a one night stay. Parking located too far off site. You have to haul your luggage from a block away. Second floor rooms; no elevator.
Well below average
We were totally mystified by the other glowing reports of this B&B. Several people commented on the cleanliness but we were far from impressed. The carpets did not seem to have been hoovered for some time & the dust was rather thick in places. In addition the demeanor of the house is quite run down. One of the single beds had a rough piece of wood between the mattress & base. No cleaning took place while we were there & no beds were made up. One of the showers was very poor with intermittent temperatures & some rooms are extremely small. I noticed that there are a few comments regarding soundproofing. This house sits on a very busy street & the whole building shakes when a heavy vehicle passes by. No amount of double or secondary glazing could prevent this. The Malaysian breakfast consists of one dish which is quite greasy & not to my taste. In general we felt that the price we paid was quite high for what we received. The landlady is very pleasant & gives you cake to take away but perhaps she should concentrate more on the basics such as cleaning & also consider spending some money on upgrading the decor & furniture.
