Comfortable hotel in central location

Reviewed 30 may, 2022

Situated just off Union Street on Chapel street this hotel is in a good location for both business & leisure in Aberdeen . There is a taxi stance close to the hotel towards the junction of Chapel/Union Streets The hotel has recently been undergoing refurbishment and has it's own car parking area available . The reception /dining /lounge areas of this hotel have been recently refurbished and have a modern ,airy feel. . Our room on the 3rd floor had been refurbished and was in excellent condition and was extremely clean .Housekeeping serviced our room daily without any problems . Room always well maintained and staff were always friendly . Our check in experience was quick and efficient and provided us with all the information needed .Similarly ,the check out experience was quick ,efficient and professional . Breakfast was included and we found ample choice each morning for both cooked and continental breakfast .... However, over the weekend the hotel was particularly busy ....and breakfast was a bit chaotic, especially on Sunday -despite the best-efforts of staff -tables not cleared promptly, shortages of cutlerely ,mugs, tea bags ,.... foods not being replenished as quickly as needed ... Good to see this was being addressed and following day there were more staff available to clear tables & replenish food etc. Overall we had a good stay at this hotel and would definitely stay here again if visiting Aberdeen.

Stayed here last night great night sleep very peaceful, clean tidy rooms. Good price as booked on the day. Nice to see staff taking there time to explain to new member of staff. Could do with more signs for lifts as kept struggling to find them. 30min walk to ARI. Definitely recommend.

Dusty

Reviewed 25 may, 2022

We arrived to a dusty room after travelling late at night. Dust everywhere on lights, shelves, heater in bathroom next to soap pumps. Bathroom door frame also dusty. I bought dettol wipes to clean myself as I did not want to delay our holiday changing rooms. At breakfast I witnessed a staff member who was clearing tables and wiping tables. Sneezing into his hand and then continue on wiping tables. I never went for breakfast the next day because of this. Staff at reception were lovely. Sadly I will not be returning.

Avoid like the plague

Reviewed 22 may, 2022

Avoid. We stayed here last night. Dodgy stains up the walls, glitter toenails clippings in the carpet, loose sockets. The breakfast was cold and the tables were disgusting and not cleaned with any regularity. Given we’ve just come out of COVID you have to wonder what happened to the supposedly sterile world we’d been living in for 2 years.

Excellent value

My daughter and I were going to the theatre so we booked a twin room for the night.Room was clean and a decent size. The receptionist was really nice.It takes 6 minutes to walk to theatre which is great.Same time to get to Belmont Street where we had tapas and cocktails at Rev de Cuba.Breakfast was good. There was a buffet with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages , and beans as well as the usual cereal, toast, fruit options.Really good value. We had planned to park in Chapel Street car park but it closed for refurbishment a few weeks before our visit. We ended up parking at Railway long stay car park. Cost £6 for just under 24 hours as long as you park on lower levels.
