Booked hotel on the phone and was told they have parking on site. When we arrived, their parking was full and we were told to pay extra £3.5 per hour for street parking on top of room rate. When I said that this was not what I was told on the phone by the hotel staff while booking. That said it is my problem and were arrogant in general. This wasn’t a leasure or work stay, but emergency due to power cuts after the storm, I.e no heating and hot water at our house. Will never choose this hotel for holiday or business!

This was our 2nd time staying here and we would never stay here again. We got to our room no 240 on the second floor over looking the road outside, looked clean enough until I moved the bin and there was food crumbs under it after a 6 hour drive we decided on a little siesta before meeting family for dinner people were running up and down the corridors all afternoon shouting, screaming & loud music from surrounding rooms. So we come back after dinner to settle for the night I think there was a hen party somewhere in the rooms as there was lots of loud chatter/shouting/singing/music… Outside of the hotel we can hear car doors slamming, girls screaming, men chatting, groups coming and going … so beneath our hotel room window we discover is a taxi rank, that along with a pizza shop not 100 yards away.. no sleep for us as this noise was a constant .. finally 4:10am I hear the roll shutters closing on the pizza shop finally it’s noise free! 9:10 housekeeping decided to let herself into the room no knock she just opened the door and announced herself, she soon retreated when she realised we was still in bed! We packed up loaded the car and went to breakfast Ohh what fun.. an absolute free for all, no where to sit, when we did find somewhere and managed to get to the buffet .. well I’ve known prisons to serve better food that was on offer! Warm apple juice, no eggs, burnt sausages, bacon that could have broken a window, no cutlery … absolute zero social distancing. NEVER AGAIN
Overall good value for money.

Good value for money considering the price includes breakfast. The rooms look quite tired and definetly in need of refits. Breakfast was good, liked the idea of the buffet cooked breakfast. Sad to see that some guests were taking advantage and heaping their plates with food which must be problematic for the staff. Only downside was there was not enough staff at breakfast time. Just seemed to be one server (totally inadequate for the amount of guests). When the chef was bringing out more food he was having to get involved with the serving too. Overall a good stay. Staff were pleasant, rooms clean just needs a good refurb.

They advertise that they have parking but is based on a 1st come 1st served basis. The check in was at 2pm and all the slots were filled and the nearest car park is £20 per night. Our room stank of mould and the carpet was stained and the bed was awful. The decor is 1990. I would neither recommend this hotel nor return to it.
Tired but good value

No point in trying to deny it, the rooms were tired and dated but as clean as they could be in the circumstances. As a family the room we were allocated was quite small, however as it was only a one night break it was adequate the bed was comfortable, there were a number of lights not working. The Breakfast was chaotic ( although I admittedly did come down at 9.15...peak time/ witching hour as any weekend hotel visitor knows!) with everything running out and ques forming for the most basic sustenance..however I cant blame the staff who were running around tirelessly clearing and replacing what they could, I blame certain customers who piled their plates high with food they could never eat , as quck as something was put out it was swiftly removed by over eager punters, no doubt to join the piles of toilet paper, bags of pasta and tanks of petrol they have undoubtedly stocked at home. Any reasonable person could see the staff were doing their best to try and counter the plagues of patrons determined to strip the buffet bare,. Unfortunately I witnessed one "gentleman" openly bully and shout at female member of staff in the middle of the dining room. A totally unacceptable and demeaning way to treat a member of the service team, any legitimate complaint he may have harboured lost all validity through this behaviour. Any criticism here really should be juxtaposed against the ridiculously cheap price this hotel is selling rooms for having paid just £47 for a family room including the controversial breakfast! The staff from check in to check out were extremely pleasant and with the great location of this hotel I'd recommend it...probably just for 1 night though!
