Feels like home. Amazing massages.

Located 20 minutes south of the airport, this 7 room home/hotel is a little jewel waiting to be polished.
Great location right on the beach. This property has no neighbors and it is private. Rooms are distributed around a beautiful garden. Each room is an individual elevated hut covered with thatch roofs. They are extremely simple yet comfortable. Rooms have a ceiling fan and a wall mounted air conditioned unit, which kept the room cool at night. Beds are king size. Closet space is limited. The bathrooms are small and clean. Part of the charm of this place is that it is very basic. That means that rooms are basically designed for sleeping purposes because there is little to no extra space to do anything else. There was a 14 inch TV in the room, we never found out if it worked. Because who wants to watch TV in Acapulco? All public areas are great. A small pool is surrounded by a pool bar and lounge areas. A semi-open dinning palapa also has a bar and tables with chairs for breakfast/lunch/dinner.
The beach is fantastic. Wide, open and deserted!!! Almost exclusively for your enjoyment. It almost feels private.
However; the best part of staying at Casa Yalma Kaan is the absoluetly lovely service from all of the staff. The chef is wonderful and his cooking is devine. He will pamper you with making modifications to his specialties to your liking. The rest of the staff is wonderful, working super hard to make you feel as comfortable and happy as possible.
This place is perfect to host a small wedding and have your closest friends or family take over the whole place. It will feel like staying at someone's home but with greater privacy in your rooms since they are detached from each other. This place is of great value for your money.
The highlight of our visit was the marvelous massage we received at the small cabin near the beach. As someone who has experienced world class SPA treatments around the world, the massage was one of the best I have ever received. The energy, technique and selfless care that was put into the massage to create a healing and well being experience was extraordinary. Do not miss it.
Areas of opportunity:
1- Toiletries and room amenities are basic. However; if you need to feel a bit more special, bring your own toiletries like soap, shampoo, conditioning, blower etc.
2- Towels are clean. However, if you love plush, soft towels for both the pool and your bath, bring your own.
3- If you bring children or teens, be aware that there are no TVs in public areas and entertainment equipment is non existing. Bring your own toys and books.
With a little more detail, this place could be polished to offer an absolutely wonderful experience. But parhaps it is how basic it is, what makes it tick. Listening to the ocean waves break, the sound of the breeze and the night sky makes you realize that all bases are covered and that life should be simpler. As it is at Casa Yalma Kaan.
High expectations, not fulfilled

It was my first stay at Yalma Ka‘an, but unfortunatly the expectations were not satisfied. First of all something positive: The food quality is really good, but as already mentioned, high price level. Entrys around $180, Main dishes $250-600, be aware that 8pm all service is ending. The rooms are simple, small and nagged. Roomservice appears in the afternoon, so coordinate your rest with the chambermaid. Day-Pool-Guest disturb all day long with loud music with bring-Own Loudspeaker, party ambience will loot your deserved siesta. Massage very recomendable, but all other activities promoted (Temascal, Bike hire, etc) are not offered.

We came for a day at the beach expecting to relax and have a good day by the beach. We had to make a reservation before getting there, first of all the location in google maps was incorrect so we drove to the other side of the city and lost around 1 hour and a half, at our arrival we were told that they were not giving us towels for the pool or the beach and offer a spot near the pool with 4 chairs and a small table, but still wanted us to pay for being here, instead of helping us and being resourceful they just kept saying that all the beds by the beach and pool were taken because of the large party at a cabin. I will never return there...
Human & Dog Paradise

Yalma Kaan is my total oasis. It's outside of the chaos of Acapulco bay, and the grounds and small houses make you feel like you're in a paradise far away from everything. I would stay here without my dogs, but the fact that they are welcome and welcome to roam free makes it that much better. Also, the food is incredible and reasonably priced- order the whole fish. Trust. Stay here if you're looking to get away and relax.
Our visit to Acapulco
Reviewed 24 May, 2017
We booked a trip to Acapulco for mid May 2017 and before we left our friends and family said Acapulco was dangerous, which of course made us a little nervous about going. However, we decided to go and see for ourselves. We arrived at Acapulco Airport late Saturday night, too nervous to rent a car, we decided to get a taxi. They took us to Casa Yalma Kann Sensor, which is about 30-45 minutes south of the big hotels, condos, “the night life”, etc. We were greeted by Jorge who took us to our room. We asked him about getting a drink, and the next thing we know Yehoshua was at our door. When we asked if we could have a couple of beers, knowing the bar was closed, he said yes and brought us a cooler of beer and a smile. We woke up the next morning and while enjoying a great breakfast, prepared by Carlos the cook (Great Chef!!!!), and overlooking the endless pool and the beach right behind it, we told our new friend Yehoshua about our nervousness exploring Acapulco on our own, he told Carlos who immediately came to our rescue. Carlos offered to show us Acapulco on his time off an d he was good on his word. He and his wife showed us all the highlights Acapulco had to offer. They made our made our experience a wonderful adventure. The landscaper keeps the grounds looking beautiful at all times. We thank Lupita, for making our bungalow feel like home every day and the whole staff at Casa Yalma Kaan Sensor for making us feel welcomed and at home. We can’t wait to see all our amigos again.
