A cozy Winter stay
My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights during our trip in Alaska. The Cabin is super cozy feeling with the front door facing north to catch the northern lights on a good night. The Cabin itself has two twin beds, a good heater, TV set and Wifi. Each Cabin has their own parking spot to go in. It's secluded between Fairbanks and North Pole in a very quiet and dark area, great for star gazing. The owner, Jim, is a very nice man and has made every accommodation for dealing with Covid in the grounds. He pre-packages the breakfast sausage muffins and orange juice in the fridge for you and has contactless check-in. He does like to personally greet during the stay and is a very kind gentleman. The outhouse bathrooms are shared among 5 cabins and so be sure to wipe down after yourself to keep cleanliness at the forefront. We couldn't recommend it any higher for anyone looking to book here for a great winter's stay.
Highly enjoyable!
The cabin was cozy and simple. The heating was very efficient. Jim (the owner) was an amazing guide and had lots of great tips. He makes the place so special! He is full of knowledge and very friendly and helpful. The snow mobile was so fun!
Volunteer clean-up of Dalton Highway sponsored by 2 great companies—Northern Alaska Tour Company and Alaska West Express
FANTASTIC operation with all credit to the above two companies. Can’t say ENOUGH about the good they do and if ever in Alaska please take one of their fantastic TOURS!!! Robert and Barbara both did an OUTSTANDING job of driving!
HORRIBLE!!!!
This property is not advertised as a DRY CABIN! What this means is that there is NO WATER except what is put in the cabin in a jug. Don't know where it comes from as it is not a sealed jug. There is only a port-a-potty that EVERYONE shares across the road! The owner said we could use her bathroom but in my opinion (and I did see it) her house is dirty and smells. I can not imagine going into and out of her house a couple of times a night with ALL the other guests to take a shower or use the bathroom. The gray water runs on the ground. Maybe that is legal in Alaska. No way could I have eaten a thing in that house.
Great cabin experience!
Five cabins by a small pond with a shared p-o-p or a short walk to the house, great heater/stove, microwave fridge, tv, great hosts, and great breakfasts! We watched the Aurora one night and visited Santa's house in North Pole, and visited Fairbanks each day just a short drive up the road.
