Great jump off point for adventures

Stayed a couple of times - first when we arrived from Seattle and again after a visit to Glacier Bay. Was very appreciative of the staff to store our luggage
there is not a lot to walk around and see in Juneau but this location is a great jump off place to explore
A lot of the tours pick up at the cruise dock which is a short walk - kind of interesting to walk down there in the evening to see the monster ships
Staff were really nice and you can book some tours with the concierge downstairs
The room was spacious and both our Mountain View’s and river views were nice
Great hotel to start our two week adventures

I am not sure if this hotel is the best that Juneau has to offer, but it is not very good.
TV in room did not work well at all, the fan and floor lamp were both unplugged and not near an outlet.
There is no AC in the room, maybe it is never needed, not sure. The window can be opened somewhat to get some air in the room.
Weak water pressure in the shower.
For the rate this hotel charges, the condition of the room is unacceptable.
Expected more from a Marriott

OK, but not up to Marriott standard. Service was friendly and helpful. Excellent location - very short walk to boardwalk, harbor attractions, and downtown. Our king room had a nice view of the harbor, was clean, quiet, and spacious, except for small/single sink bath with no exhaust fan. Bed was very comfortable. However, it seemed that some of the furniture was missing; there was a nightstand on one side of the bed and a large empty space on the other. To the left of the tv was another large empty space where one may expect a couch, chair or table. Could not get the climate controls to work, so we left the window open until bedtime, then closed to lock out the noise. The ‘dining room’ turned out to be a leased out sports bar, which offered some food items for lunch and dinner - but no breakfast. The lack of breakfast should be pointed out in hotel description and in confirmation, but it was not. We had an early morning tour booked for our first morning, and the surprise of no breakfast facility was a problem. The only suggestion offered by the desk clerk was the Ramada that she said was 7 minutes by foot in the rain. These are shortcomings we did not expect for $300 per night - or at any price from a Marriott. As for breakfast, we found Heritage Cafe and Coffee (about 3 blocks away). They open at 6 am for coffee and snacks with kitchen food starting at 7am.

Stay Report - 8/27-8/29
Location: The hotel is the best located hotel in Juneau I will grant it that. It's right downtown on Egan Highway (AS-7) and you can walk to all of the downtown attractions, plenty of restaurants, bars and breweries and the cruise terminal. It's also right next to the bus terminal and is a mere 10 minute drive to JNU Airport. There's a grocery store in walking distance as well.
Hotel: The hotel is a former independent chain which was brought up to SPG standards a few years ago. It looks mainly like a pre-merger 4P with no Marriott touches whatsoever. Even the CC machines still say SPG on them. It does have its own parking lot and parking is free. There's a small lobby with a two computer business center, sweet shop, attached sports bar/restaurant and a concierge of sorts which sells discounted tours.
Check In: The agent checking me in was very helpful and thanked me for my status. I also got right into a room at 1:30 PM which I appreciated.
Room: Better than expected at least. Soundproofing isn't great and the bathroom was small but at least it looked modern enough. The beds were comfortable, there was power next to the beds, there was a desk and the Wifi worked. That's a lot of good things there. Though there is no daily housekeeping.
Breakfast: Absolutely pathetic. Apparently they can't get staffing for breakfast so it's a box with two hard boiled eggs, grapes, a cheese stick and a KIND bar. As bad an elite breakfast as I've seen anywhere.
It is an option for Juneau but for the $400 a night I paid I felt I got cheated pretty badly.

We stayed at this hotel on two separate occasions during our recent Alaska trip. Each time we were disappointed in this hotel. The name brand suggests it should be nice, and the price point suggests it too. It’s very expensive for the stay we experienced.
The pros: nice downtown location. Close to all the shops and restaurants.
The cons: check in was terrible. As members of Marriott bonvoy, we requested early check in. By early I mean noon instead of their 3 o’clock check in time. We were told the room would be ready. Nope. Not either stay was it ready and we waited hours to get into a room. We were in the lobby sitting and waiting and people started checking in after we had waited a couple of hours. What? I had to go up and demand a room since I knew they had them obviously. We were within eyesight of the front desk people and they were checking in people and leaving us sit. Not good. I shouldn’t have to demand a room!
The excuse was we are busy and short handed. I get it, we waited patiently but then don’t start letting people who just walked in get their rooms while we were ignored.
The rooms are outdated and overpriced for what you get. They were clean.
No airport shuttle.
No we wouldn’t stay there again.
