Family of 7. Clean, comfortable overnight stop
Reviewed 4 november, 2021
Good for a low budget hotel. Family of 7. Clean, comfortable overnight stop. We found our room to be in order and comfortable for a night of sleep. It’s far enough from the highway to not hear loud traffic. There is a fan on the heater/a/c unit that can be used to block the noise if needed. My family didn’t complain about breakfast options but we aren’t expecting luxury at budget. Also with COVID some hotels are limited in what/how they can serve things. We stayed at 3 hotels during our 10 day trip and this is the only one that had a buffet style open (normal budget continental style). I had hot coffee and a delicious cinnamon roll. It was my birthday breakfast and I’m picky about my pastries and it just hit the spot. Friendly management that evening as well. It was a Saturday evening.
Totally Disappointing - Low Quality Breakfast
Reviewed 21 september, 2021
From the moment we stepped in we were disappointed. We waited over 10 minutes before we acknowledged for check in. Our room had previous guests towels over the shower rod and the conditioner dispenser was out. Breakfast was unacceptable. While taking in the breakfast we had to wait to get the tables cleaned......unfortunately, only 1 person in the kitchen. All I can say is why have syrup if you don't have pancakes or waffles - why have cream cheese when you don't have bagels - why have biscuits when you are out of the gravy that goes with them - why have oatmeal cups when you don't have hot water. The eggs resembled flat small pancakes with no taste what so ever and the sausage patties were very low quality. There were 3 cereal choices, slices of white or wheat breads, and no fresh bakery items, or fruit. The only thing that was good was the yogurt. It doesn't take much to go to the local grocery store and stock the things needed if your supply chain doesn't have it. This will be my last stay at a Holiday Inn...........they are simply not what they once were. Secondly, for $137 with taxes in the town of Albert Lea is plenty to pay for substandard stay.
Comfortable beds, gorgeous decor, incredible staff.

This inn was the perfect retreat at the end of an excruciating road quick cross-country road trip. Desk clerk Diana made us feel like we were VIPs as we arrived shortly before midnight. She wore an adorable mask that matched her charming personality. Our room was clean, spacious, and inviting as the crisp yet cozy comfortable bed. The delicious smelling facial soap was an unexpected spa experience. Although my husband found their off-brand Kerig coffee pods unpalatable, being able to have a hot cup of decaffeinated coffee in our room soothed my aching body. I credit this hotel experience for a much needed night of great sleep. Their complimentary breakfast included sausage, Chobani blueberry non-fat yogurt, whole grain toast, and palatable coffee added to the re-energizing we needed to complete the last leg of our long trip.
Last Minute Pick

We were planning on a B&B in Iowa to end a 2 week vacation in MN. At the last minute we were informed that the place had double booked and the room was not available. No problem with a last minute room! Nice clean room, friendly staff (all masked!), and a great night's sleep the last night of vacation!
Newly Renovated - Nothing Worked
Reviewed 10 september, 2020
Stayed here on 9/9/2020, the staff was pleasant and very helpful. We stayed in a double queen suite. The hotel was newly renovated, evidenced by the stack of materials outside and the work vehicles. The room was fine, clean, comfortable beds, and nice pillows. Unfortunately, The TV turned on but did not work after that 'no signal' despite being connected to the power and HDMI system. I went to call the front desk about the TV, but the room phone was just a prop, not a single telephone wire on the site, and not functional. Okay, fine, I will use the hotel provided free wi-fi for my laptop to watch Netflix. Nope, the wi-fi password provided with my room keys was incorrect. I appreciate the upgrades, however, please make sure everything in the room works before booking guests. PS, to the AM check out clerk, you should ask how my stay was, and I would have told you about the items needing attention.
