More about the hotel
Midtown is where you want to be!
Booked a room at Albuquerque West. There were droves of drugged out homeless people wandering like zombies and our room reeked of sewage. Cancelled and switched to Midtown and it was really nice! It was just a nice, regular hotel that was clean to stay in. It’s not in a scary location and I wasn’t worried about my car being broken into. I was very impressed for a La Quinta! They had a nice little courtyard for dogs to do their business, which I thought was nice. If you must stay at a La Quinta in Albuquerque, for the love of all that is good, stay in Midtown.
Not a good place to stay
We recently stayed at this hotel and it was a nightmare. The elevator did not work so we had to lug all our luggage up the stairs. They had one person running the front desk, running up to rooms to help guests get into their rooms and trying to put together the take away bags all at the same time. Oh, and he was also trying to get the elevator fixed himself. All the rooms were dog friendly which I did not realize since my granddaughter has ashma and allergic to dogs. the room had one thermostat that did not work, (i think it was there to make you think you had control) and it was so hot and stuffy all night it felt chocking along with the smell of dogs. We got our sad excuse for a breakfast and could not wait to get out!
Safe, clean, and welcoming! Extremely pet friendly!
As we drive across country with our 2 dogs, we have stayed in a few different La Quintas. This is by far the nicest one we’ve been in and the most pet friendly one, by far! They were very kind at check in and only charged $20 for both of large dogs (a great deal, if you ask me). The employees were so kind and even complimented our dogs. They clearly love having pets as guests! They even had an enclosed dog park area with the only access to it was from inside of the hotel, complete with doggy waste bags and bin. In addition the hotel was very safe. All outside doors required a room key to enter the hotel and the parking lot was well lit (which is nice considering we drove in after dark and left before sunrise). The room was extremely clean, as well! As soon as we entered the room you could tell it was freshly cleaned and done well. The room was well decorated and they had many towels available (amazing in comparison to other hotels who give you a single towel). The room was large, which was nice for us and our dogs to stretch our legs after being cooped up in a car all day. If we are ever in Albuquerque again, we will be staying here!
Room as Advertised - Friendly Staff
Good room for the night and was as advertised. Close to the Interstate, friendly staff, easy check in and accommodating for our two cats ($20 fee which I found very reasonable). Decor is a little bit dated in the rooms but we found it to be comfortable and clean.
Room was fine Hotel needs better maintenance/management
Since guests are not picking up the abundant dog waste in the pet area, management needs to do this. Nice enclosed area for dogs. Our coffee maker did not work. Grab and go breakfast had only an apple for people who can't eat eggs. Good location near intersection of 2 interstate highways. Not many restaurants nearby.
