I stayed at this motel several times before, so I was hoping for better. The positive? Although the carpet in the room was stained, it was clean for the most part. I like the large rooms. The negatives? Really - a $2.50 cleaning charge? There was a wheat chex on the counter by the microwave, and what looked like candy wrappers on the floor. The pool and whirlpool were closed (It is legal for them to be open). The breakfast wasn't as good as it used to be. The TV remotes did not work other than to turn to tv on.
Could be better

Location is good. Inside rooms a plus. Room was large but need reno. No cups or coffee maker in room. Not even a grab and go bag for breakfast. Our room did not have a shower curtain. Front desk would not let me put one up. Had to wait for front desk. Meanwhile my husband tried to take shower without it. Impossible!. Front desk person was not the nicest for this situation.
Economical hotel with shuttle service during COVID

Choice Hotel option that provides shuttle service during COVID. THe rooms are comfortable, but the wear and tear is significant. If you want the latest style and no signs of heavy use, this isn’t the place for you. The AC wasn’t on and the room was hot and stuffy when we entered. The AC was on all night and my wife was hot most of the night. Water pressure was great and the water was hot. No breakfast service, either. I like the wood in the lobby.
Several Nights close to UNM Sports Complexs

This hotel is right off I-25 and is close to the airport and UNM sporting events, but further away from UNM and Downtown where we spent most our time. However, I didn't pick the hotel myself as my friend booked it further in advance and mentioned it was in a better area than those hotels closer to downtown or the campus. As well we were going to a UNM basketball anyways during the 2 night stay. Since I didn't book it, I can't comment on the staff as I had no interaction with them, but did notice in the morning there were donuts out. Room was actually pretty big with a main room with a large bed and a living room near the front door with a pull out couch bed. Both rooms had their own TV and the bathroom and sink area separated the two rooms. Room had a lot of lights and had paintings and mirrors on the wall, making it look decent enough. Also there were a lot of tables and some other sitting areas as well. Toilet had a loose seat, but was fine otherwise and contained the basic amenities. The TV was a bit odd as the frame was compressed somehow and the remote had no way to fix the issue. It made watching sports a bit weird, but unsure if this was just that room or all the rooms. We found some left over food in the fridge in the freezer part and a shirt hanging up in the closet. So seems that maybe the room wasn't cleaned as well as it should have been. The pool was all indoors and also contained a hot tub. I didn't go in, but my friends did and they didn't have any complaints. Again it's walking distance to the sports area for basketball and football which for those going to games can save you for having to pay for parking if you are staying here and there are some food options close by that are a short walk away giving you some options if you didn't want to drive. In fact it's also easy to walk to the main terminal of the airport as well as there is a sidewalk that goes off the road to the terminal if you can find it that is...
What a Dump

Avoid the smells, black mold, horrifically stained carpet, scary pool and terrible management. Breakfast was fair, and I can live with dated styles, but the hotel overall was dirty. Take your money elsewhere.
