The room smelled like someone had very recently smoked in the unit. When I spoke with the front desk, he said they knew someone had been smoking in there “sorry about that”. This is after I specifically requested a room that had been nonsmoking prior to 2013 when all rooms became nonsmoking due to Asthma issues.
When I asked the front desk why housekeeping had not come in 2 days, they said you’re required to put a slip on the door - that was never mentioned or provided at checkin.
Pool - the water was so cloudy it was obviously not safe to swim in. When hotel staff was asked, they said they saw no issue and that all appropriate chemicals had been added. Clearly there was something off. The water was so low in the hot tub that the jets were throwing water out of the tub. Clearly not safe nor maintained.
The parking lot is a hazard. The potholes are unlike anything I’ve ever seen and it’s a free for all on what’s actually a parking spot. I understand the mall owns the lot but good grief - provide a safe place for your customers. I shouldn’t need 4-wheel drive just to get to the front door.
We will never stay at a comfort inn again and certainly never recommend this specific location. Horrible experience.
Doing what a Choice Hotel should do.

Our introduction to this hotel was shaky--literally. They are attached to s shopping mall that is, frankly, run by a scum-of-the-earth slumlord. To gt to the hotel you must navigate parking lot and drives that look like they've been cluster-bombed. Drive too fast, you'll need dental work. SO, here's a tip--dreive through the nearby Wal-Mart lot behind the neighboring shops and you'll reduce your time in that craters-of-the-moon parking lot by 2/3.
Once you're in the part that's controlled by Comfort Inn, you get--comfort. The facility is clean and well maintained. The rooms could benefit by having more than one chair and desk or table surface. Staff is friendly.
Many Choice Hotels have installed spa tubs in some rooms for a small extra charge, and I love them.
Now, we're in the post-covid transition, and one mild disappointment was the complementary breakfast. No buffet of powdered eggs and make-your-own waffles. Rather, pick up a brown paper sack at front desk, containing a frozen Jimmy Dean sausage-egg-cheese croissant (microwave it for 1 minut 50 seconds in your room), a sinle-serve cup of mandarin oranges and some mandarin moosh, and a grain and fruit bar. Should I grumble? No--they're likely having difficulty hiring.
So I award my score of four, which is my way of saying "this nationwide chain performed up to its standards" and they should be proud. May providence grant them an asphalt company.
Worst stay ever

We reserved using Priceline, which was the biggest fn mistake ever! We got here to check in and wanted to upgrade our room. They said since it’s done with Priceline they couldn’t touch the reservation. Ok. We call Priceline and they give us the same fn runaround. The room fn stinks, the beds ARE NOT QUEEN beds at all. They are tiny af. Yet they said we couldn’t have moved to a king room cuz it only accommodates 2 and we had 3 people. I guarantee the king size bed is bigger than the 2 tiny beds we had! My mom has back problems and can’t sit in the crappy desk chairs they provide. We needed the king room with the sofa bed, which, hello, would accommodate the 3rd person. Oh and to top it off since we couldn’t get the hot tub room, we wanted to use the public one. Oh it’s fn broke of course!!! SCREW YOU COMFORT INN!

First time staying here.... Now, yes ...the attached mall is run down... the road to hotel has potholes the size of moon craters, but ..
Staff was very friendly, room, and hallways very clean, was very quiet.. so all in a a great value! ...Great place for me to catch some badly needed sleep.
Will definitely stay again here... when in town!
Great value. Staff very good. Tons of stuff nearby.

Have been here several times. Comfort Inn Alliance is actually attached to Carnation Mall with its movie theater & arcade. Great selection of nearby restaurants: Starbucks, McD, Texas Roadhouse, Bob Evans, China Buffet, just to name a few. Easy walk to several restaurants and Walmart is next property over. Rooms have been recently remodeled and new tv’s are currently being installed. Several people have commented about the shopping center owned driveway and parking lot maintenance. Mall owner has patched those areas. Be sure to join Choice free rewards program for frequent specials.
