Not staying here again until it’s renovated
Reviewed 4 august, 2022
This is a very outdated hotel. You can smell the mustiness when you come through the front door. The ceiling of the atrium has visible mold growing on it. The sliding glass door to the balcony is ruined and you can hardly see out. Several other rooms in the hotel had leaks of the balcony doors following rain. I was told the hotel would be renovated starting in September and it needs it desperately. The location is fabulous so I would try it again after that reservation. The staff are very nice!

Orlando for business

Upon an evening check-in after flying to Orlando, Daniel was so helpful finding me a quiet room for my weeks stay. I would be working 12 hour night shifts and needed to have a great nights/days rest. Thank you Daniel! Though a Hilton member; I believe Daniel would treat all customers with the same attentiveness and kindness. Kudos to his great customer service. I have frequently stayed here for business trips and look forward to the renovation.

Was told that remodeling and updating was going to take place

I was in a handicapped room. The conversion of the shower was poorly done as the floor was flat and water ran out into the rest of the area even with towels down to block the flow. The floor in my room like other rooms my family was staying was slick tile and very slippery when even a little wet.

First the positives- Location is convenient to the Altamonte area. Front desk staff was very friendly. Bartender for the manager's reception was always very cheerful and provided quick service, even with a big crowd. Unfortunately, the negatives outweigh the positives. The hotel is extremely dated and is in desperate need of updates. Old stained, worn carpets, stains on furniture, etc. Pool are indoors may be nice for some, but is honestly was more like a chlorine sauna in there. While the rooms seemed reasonably clean, on more than one occasion, we saw live roaches crawling around in the atrium area. I get it that this is a Florida hotel, I live in Florida, but multiple times? Groups were also asked to leave the atrium area because sounds "carried" up to the rooms?? I have stayed in multiple other Embassy Suites hotels in many different cities and have never seen that before. I could see if a group was being loud or something but I saw them ask two people who were just sitting on the couch, having a regular conversation, to leave the area. The kicker for me was the security guard that was present pretty much 24/7. He was patrolling all of the floors and spent a great deal of time watching the atrium area from the floors above. Almost like a prison guard watching the prison yard from above. It DID NOT make me feel any more safe and, in fact, made the experience feel a bit sketchy. Is there a reason why the hotel feels that it needs a security guard 24/7 patrolling the inside atrium area?
