Nice hotel in Western Amarillo conveniently located, with a great 2-bedroom suite for our family of 5

Clean hotel. Our family of 5 booked the 2-bedroom suite, and it was perfect – a king bed in one bedroom with an en suite bathroom, 2 queen beds in another bedroom with an en suite bathroom, and a living area with a sleeper sofa; also a kitchen area. The breakfast in the morning was actually quite good, with several hot options and then the usual spread of breads, cereals, juice, etc. They even had oat milk for the cereal, if I remember correctly. Would happily stay here again.

Ok let me start by saying I use ihg exclusively as I travel.i am a spire elite member and stay everywhere.this was no where near quality of a staybridge.more like a crackhouse.every wall was stained and had holes in them.refrigerator looks as if it had been thru a war. Huge hole in bathroom door, towel rack for hanging your towels broken off...every curtain had cigarette holes and stained...every piece of furniture was dirty damaged scratched....no shampoo in dispensers....no amenities coffee etc...could not tell if it was blood or ketchup on the wall, did not want to know it was gross. We did not eat the food for breakfast because if room was that bad did bit even want to know how they take care of kitchen.....brought this up to manager.he informed me day before was his 1st day on the job and he was so sorry and would definitely add points to my account to make up for stay, in which case he never did, that's fine its not about the points anyway but I can see why this hotel is a complete dump nobody says and takes care of anything they say they will....Shane on you ihg management needs to take a hard look at this hotel.....I know ill get the typical response here from management but traveler's beware.....

Was That a Staybridge???

First room was super hot as I walked in. Apparently, A/C had broken down – it was 85F (30C) in the room and no changing the setting. Second room had bed all undone. Third room seemed okay, and it was where I stayed. Wifi was good, breakfast was typical sweet stuff. The kitchen stuff was visibly annoyed by my requests to heat up quick oatmeal in a microwave. Firstly, I had to ask for milk, secondly, for a regular ceramic plate and not a thin paper one, thirdly, there was no microwave in the eating area.

Gross Bathroom in Need of Maintenance

Stayed at the Staybridge Suites in October 2021 while attending a wedding at a nearby venue. I’ve stayed at several Staybridge Suites in the past and despite being probably less than 10 years old, this property has seen better days. The Good: -Convenient location near I-40 -Very friendly front desk staff at check-in -Booked studio room; upgraded to 1 bedroom suite without asking (Spire Elite Member). Rare for IHG. The Bad: -Room was in poor condition -The main light in the kitchen did not work -There were exactly zero dishes in the cabinets or silverware in the drawers. They were all in the dishwasher. No one wants to unload a dishwasher when staying in a hotel. I could understand a few pieces, but not a full dishwasher. It was loaded poorly (see pictures) and several pieces of dishware were dirty. -A portion of the ceiling in the kitchen was caved in from water damage from an upper floor (see picture). -Above the ice maker in the freezer was staining from food leaks (see picture). I did want to risk food poisoning from consuming the ice. -The mattress felt original to the hotel: 10+ years old, threadbare, you could feel every spring. Awful. The Ugly: -THE BATHROOM WAS TERRIBLE!!! See multiple pictures. -The toilet seat was split and gross on the bottom. The toilet itself had significant staining in the bowl. -The sheet rock on the wall closest to the shower was worn away and rusted. -There were several rust stains along the grout in the shower. -The pan of the shower was dark and dingy and missing the drain cover showing the mildewed inside of the drain and allowing me the pleasure of accidentally standing on it. I would suggest management conduct an evaluation of the conditions of the rooms or at least Room 306. I probably would have requested to change rooms, but didn’t see the bathroom issue until we were settled in and just tried to work around it.

A formerly nice hotel.

This used to be a nice, well-kept hotel. Not anymore. It’s a mess - rooms in shabby condition, a/c not working in several rooms or halls or the lobby. Housekeeping not doing a great job. The rooms are big and have full kitchens. Happy hour now only Mon - Wed and no breakfast buffet - just bags. A real letdown in what was once a very nice hotel. You will likely have problems if you stay here - many of the guests were complaining in the lobby and elevator.
