Wonderful family weekend stay!

Reviewed 29 november, 2021

We are just back from a weekend in the Art-otel with our 2 children. Yes, the location is good, walking distance to everything and the rooms are modern and clean but the stand out here is the staff! Without exception, everyone we meet was kind, friendly and service driven. A special shout out to the amazing manager, Katerina from Sicily (sorry if I spelt your name wrong :-) who sorted out a minor booking issue with such grace and care. Also, the brilliant concierge, Marcel (I think!), what a super caring, friendly guy - the kids adored him and loved the ride in the luggage trolley :-) The breakfast was excellent and a shout out also the breakfast staff and chefs - you are the best! Take a bow amazing staff of Art'otel, we can't to visit again, Collins Family

Amsterdam couple trip

Reviewed 28 november, 2021

We enjoyed our stay in Amsterdam, the hotel location is very good, close to the central station so it was easy to go to and from the airport. The view out of the ‘room with a view’ was construction work. The staff was very nice and helpful. Unfortunately the way to the sport center goes through the restaurant, which is very uncomfortable

Treated poorly

Reviewed 27 november, 2021

The moment I checked in and the guest clerk could not find my reservation we were treated like it was our fault. I shared my confirmation letter and clerk could not figure out what was wrong she told me husband to stop being rude though all he said was he didn’t understand why she was asking if it could be under another name when we gave the confirmation number and showed the letter to her. We were told the reservation was cancelled by their reservation teams and it didn’t show why they assumed for credit card fraud. I told them I was never contacted from them. I had just spoken to them three days prior. The front desk manager came to speak with us and told us the room we reserved wasn’t ready so there was another room they would have to put a cot bed in it. We said that’s fine she then said she would cover our dinner. Front desk clerk said she would come get me when the room was ready. My husband then went back to speak to the FD manager and she offered a percentage off the room rate on top of covering our dinner. We got checked in and everything for the most part was fine till check out when the dinner bill was still there. FD manager came to speak with us and she said she only agreed to one or the other and when she spoke to our reservations team they said we canceled the room. She just kept giving us excuses and arguing and not listening to us. When I asked to speak to the GM she told me this will not be going to the GM. When I told her I called to speak to the reservations team before checking in and confirm our room. She still kept arguing with us. Overall, the room was fine. Restaurant was lovely and we had a great waiter. What ruined our stay was the FD manager and how unprofessional she was. She did not handle the situation well at all.

Spacious modern room; kind, helpful staff

Reviewed 20 november, 2021

Chose this based on reviews and proximity to the Central Station. We splurged on the king with iconic view, which at this time included an iconic view of the large construction area in front of the train station. Our room was very modern and comfortable, with a stylish bath, as well. We found their app and online check-in to be a waste of time, since we still had to give ID, etc. to the front desk staff, who told us that we couldn’t have got a key downloaded to our phone until after 3pm the day of arrival. Breakfast at Carstens in the Victoria Hotel a few doors up the street was very good — many choices, and well-presented, with a friendly, helpful staff, with reasonable space between tables — well worth including it with the room. We had taken the Thallys from Paris, took the elevator down from the platform to the passage below the tracks, which let us out (after scanning our tickets) on the level of the terminal exit/entry. So we were able to wheel our bags out the doorway and across the plaza and tram tracks toward the hotel, which we recognized from the photo. We’d stay here again, and highly recommend.
