NOT RECOMMENDED IN MY OPINION!! First for the cleanliness of the room, we found rubbish under the bed (photo follows), the room service was not good, the air conditioning did not work and I told them three times but they did not do anything. Nevertheless, because we smoked weed in the hotel’s toilet, they told us to leave the hotel in one hour (9 o'clock at night with lockdown in in the city) either to pay 300 euros for charge. It was our mistake that we smoked in the room but also on the other hand they was very strict with us, who were on vacation with a specific budget.

We were here in 2020 (covid year) and we had a positive experience. This time it has been totally different. Impossible to talk to the reception as too many people were always standing in a queue for the registration. The room has not been cleaned. When we returned in the evening at 23.30 we have found the dirty towels still on the floor. We have called the the reception twice. They promised to come but they have never done. The breakfast is organized in shifts. I would have never taken a breakfast at 7.30 on Sunday morning, but this was the only shift left and I got no breakfast. I was informed only when I have arrived and the breakfast was already payed. Unacceptable. Good is the location close to the metro and the airport, but this area is full of hotels, and next time I will go somewhere else.

I don't think my vocabulary is extensive enough to give the Holiday inn Amsterdam the praise it deserves. The staff as a whole is probably the best I've encountered in any other hotel, special thanks to the front office team.

Hygiene could be better

During the check-in I had to repeat things over and over again, because the guy at reception couldn't hear me that good.. Strange that you can't pay with cash at all in this hotel. We also got the wrong room, we had requested two separate beds and there was also a stain on the floor in the bathroom. He didn't told us anything about the facilities, only the breakfast. Wifi went down every time. 1 night light did not work. Too bad there was no fridge and mini bar in the bedroom. No toiletries and toilet brush. The door couldn't be locked. There was a stain on the toilet seat.. We couldn't even use the gym. No movie options on the tv. Shower water temprature kept changing. Windows that could not be opened for fresh air.. Not what I expected during my stay. Breakfast was okay.

staff not trying to understand or help you. rigid and xenophobic. to avoid. I had my wallet stolen, my company sent an email before I arrived at the hotel to take care of the payment and the paperwork but the staff did not want to know ... great job!
