Still a great place to stay

If departing on a cruise, river or ocean, it’s a great place to stay. Close to the main train station. Easy to get to by train from the airport. COVID requirements cause some minor issues that reduce the quality of your stay. Nearby construction complicates getting into the city center if walking. As always in Amsterdam watch out for the da- bikes!

Best place to stay before the inaugural cruise on the Rotterdam in October 2021. Staff is attentive, rooms are clean. The ambassador suite is very comfortable amd spacious. We were disappointed that due to Covid the regular restaurant was closed for dinner. Included full buffet breakfast with made to order omelets was ample and wait staff was excellent. The only glitch was we had reserved and paid for guaranteed early 10 am checkin. When we arrived, we were told the room was not available, the agent did not know when it would be ready and regular check in time was 4 pm. The front desk person did not handle this well, but when the manager was notified, the issue was remedied promptly. We were in our room by 10:30. Throughout our stay, staff was attentive and any requests were filled quickly. Bar cafe was open for dinner and food was tasty. Service is friendly, but a little slow due to staffing issues.
Worst experience during breakfast

During the check-in the hotel offered me to book a breakfast for my stay. I agreed and paid for the breakfast in advance. The next day when we headed to the breakfast room, we were advised that the breakfast was not included in our stay. After a long discussion and having showed the receipt of my credit card, the staff member agreed to let us have the breakfast and to to check the status with the reception. After some time we were contacted multiple times in a very indiscreet way by the staff to check the situation or to have calls with the reception. Conclusion, despite having paid for the breakfast, we had to stop eating and solve the issue downstairs. At the end we decided to continue our breakfast in a second place due to the very unpleasant and humiliating situation we faced.
Good Location Not So Good Service

We staying at the Movenpic Hotel in Amsterdam in late October. Although not in the heart of Amsterdam, it is about a 15-20 minute walk to the tram station. The check- in process was lengthy. Our room was fairly large, but had two win beds pushed together. The mattresses was so firm I had a hard time sleeping. I had to sleep on top of the coverlet which was softer. The room did not have a blanket. I asked the desk for a blanket but it was never delivered. On the plus side, the breakfast, which was included, was excellent with wide variety of meats, cheeses, eggs, fruit, yogurt, breads and more. The lobby also had a nice gift shop with reasonable prices. Overall, I would rate this hotel average due to the poor service and lack of comfort.
The room was not cleaned at all.

The room was not cleaned at all in the second day of my stay. I was left with no cleaned towels. I took 30 minutes in the line at the reception and I only get clean towels, the room service was charged and not been done.
