A nice hotel

Reviewed 24 august, 2016

I do recommend. It is comfortable and clean. However, we had problems with guests in the room next to ours. They spend hours (after 22h) on the balcony talking loudly and smoking until late at night. It bothered a lot, and I believe the hotel could have a more severe policy on nocturnal silence. I was on vacation in July and I just wanted to rest.

Recommend the hotel, not the location if you are looking for days at the beach

The hotel itself is very good. The hotel is actually better than the photos advertised, which was a good surprise. The only thing i didn't like about it is the location. It's close to restaurants and nightlife but If you are looking to spend the days at the beach, i would recommend staying at praia do saco or mangue seco - Although the hotel is by Atalaia beach, this is not a nice beach and has no structure. The good beaches are about one hour away by car.

I Could Have Been Killed

Typical hotel in Aracaju. Decent breakfast, even if the people who work there are not among the friendliest, which is not normal in Brazil, especially the person who checks your apartment number before letting you in. But that's not the worst thing that happened here. I took the elevator to my floor (3rd), but it went past 3, past 4 and ended up on 5. Problem is there is no 5th floor, it's just a storage room. Trying to get back down, the elevator buttons were unresponsive, the doors just kept closing part way, then opening. Emergency phone was inoperative. Hit the emergency button, but no one responded. Saw a fire door on the opposite wall, and tried that. When I opened it, it had been sealed off from the other side. Returned to the elevator, but now the doors had closed, and the call button box was not functioning. So, I'm stuck in this dingy room with not means of escaping. Crawled outside, and onto the rooftop to yell for help. After about 45 minutes, attracted the attention of a lady crossing the street, who notified people in the hotel, who came up to open up a roof hatch above me. I climbed up a rickety home-made ladder in order to get out. The whole ordeal lasted about 2 hours. When i spoke to the manager the following morning, her only response was, "I'm sorry."

Many hotels in aracaju, this is good. Location, great staff and good swimming pool. Clean rooms and the breakfast is good. Have valet parking and unluckely not many staff that spoke english. Only little at front desk. Very good option.

Enjoyable

As I was on holiday I had not much to stress about so most of the things that I would usually pick up on were not such a major issue and being in Hotel Management my attention to detail is probably a bit high especially for Brazil. First off I would like to Thanks Aquarios for even accommodating me after the previous hotel had fallen through last minute. I booked a day before arriving and made a note to be in the new block and they managed to do so on the 4th floor, even better. Im guessing they don't see as much rain as I had bought with me because every time it rained the hallways would have puddles of water everywhere (due to windows being open/not fully sealed). As others have said rooms get 'renovated' with new tv's and paint but the structural things are forgotten but better than nothing. The rooms are of a good standard (for Brazil) There were not many staff that spoke english but not an issue for myself but maybe for others especially with world cup and olympics coming tourists are there to travel and they are not going to learn another language just to visit one city so I would suggest improving the staff that already know a bit. The Breakfast Is really great, Buffet with made to order tapioca and a nice selection of items, not to mention the sweet selection for after, I though this was great as in New Zealand we don't typically eat sweet things in the morning :) Over all, Aquarios is a great option for your stay in Aracaju at a great price that is reflected on what you receive, I would choose to stay here again. *note it is a tad far without a car or use of taxis to shopping malls ect*
