Friendly and good welcome for the traveler

A good hotel for the business traveler. Several guests were technical as I was visiting the city. Good free WI FI. Attentive receptionist is the strong point. June is Festa Junina's time. Typical snacks were available from this time at the reception. Check in quick as well as check out. The room is clean and comfortable. I found the TV link a bit slow and few channels. Comfortable bed. The neighborhood at night is quiet although close to downtown and easy access. It has large parking. Good showers in the bathroom. Dinner at night has good variety as well as snacks. The breakfast was good.

Clean, but quite poor. Breakfast is ok, but food sucks in general. It is ok if your in a business trip and want a place to sleep. Good shower. Limited parking lot. Not for families. And you'll need a car.

Fare price and great breakfast

Reviewed 16 april, 2017

This hotel is far from downtown but conveniently located close to the main bus station (around 3 blocks away). Breakfast is quite good! Dinner is available at a fare price. Rooms are spacious and clean. It's not a simple place with good value for money. To move around the city you would need a car as the hotel is not centrally located. Rooms have a mini fridge available to keep water or small food. I didn't have time to use neither the pool or the gym so I cannot rate it...

Eh...

This hotel had its ups and downs... The room was very clean, I have to admit. But overall quality of the furniture was average. The windows were not sound proof so anything that happened outside, you could easily hear. The AC system, I'm pretty sure could not be set for higher or lower temperatures. The breakfast downstairs was absolutely horrible. If your stay is just a night or two, the hotel is fine, for extended stays, I would stay away. Not to mention that you actually need to press a switch to activate lights before entering a completely dark emergency exit stairway!

Not great, not awful

Reviewed 28 september, 2014

Stayed 6 days here on company travel. Photos on the web are pretty accurate. People from the U.S. probably won't be impressed, but IMHO this hotel is basically identical to most hotels in southern Europe (small elevators, dated decor, questionable heat/AC/plumbing/etc) but with bigger rooms. My room was clean; replace the bare CFL bulbs with the original groovy floodlight bulbs, replace the LCD TV with a lava lamp and you're back in 1968. No problems with water pressure or hot water; the AC worked but it was strictly on/off (via a light switch hidden behind a lampshade)--no control over temperature setting. They installed a new in-room safe the first day I was there. The staff was friendly and helpful, despite my pathetic attempts at Portuguese; some speak some English, others don't. Location is about 20 minute walk from "downtown" with high-rise apartments in front and behind; there are few shops or restaurants nearby (you might read that there's a shopping center across the street, but don't believe it--it's been abandoned for years). The small pool is accessible only thru the dining room, which could be awkward at times. There's an internet computer in the lobby (no printer I could see). The lobby restaurant serves 3 buffet-style meals/day except Sunday (no lunch). Given the location, with no car and my lack of Portuguese, it was pretty much my only option. Breakfast was good, other meals were OK.
