Clean, comfortable & quiet

Reviewed 26 october, 2021

Stayed here while visiting family in nearby Fort Worth. We were able to check in ahead of the 3pm normal check in time. We found our room to be clean, comfortable and quiet. No issues here. Housekeeping can be requested but we opted just to stop at the front desk to replenish room towels and amenities. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom of decent size and plenty of hot water, and the room equipped with microwave and mini fridge. Television had more than enough channels including some premium ones. Of note, there were convenient outlets for charging mobile devices but the USB ports were only at the desktop and with the alarm clock. As others have reported WiFi is weak and you may have to use your cellphone as a hotspot to effectively use an iPad or tablet. The lobby located computer workstations are quirky and loaded with obsolete software which makes then virtually unusable. We needed to download our airline boarding passes on our iPad and then mail the file to the front desk for printing. Daily breakfast offers an array of items ranging from waffles to cereal. During our stay the staff worked hard to keep things full, especially on the weekend when the breakfast crowd was larger. There is a sundry alcove in the lobby for other basic needs. The property does border Interstate 30 and highway road noise can be heard at times. So it might be best to avoid the rooms on the northern side of the building. We were on the opposite end and enjoyed a quiet stay. All staff members encountered were helpful and friendly. All in all a pleasant stay and worth revisiting next time we are in town.

TRAINING EVENT

Reviewed 17 september, 2021

I hosted a training event for FIRELINE at the Comfort Suites Arlington-Entertainment District. Mary Trantham made it an excellent choice. The room accommodations were professional and the event was completed easily. The hotel is equally convenient to both DFW and DAL airports, which is convenient.

Metroplex vacation hotel

Reviewed 17 august, 2021

My family stayed at this Comfort Suites for a week, visiting the Metroplex for a vacation. Overall, we liked the stay, and I’d definitely stay there again. But, at the same time, the stay was far from perfect. I’ll just list some of the pros/cons from our visit: Pros: + The location was very convenient for us to visit the Metroplex. It’s close to Six Flags/Hurricane Harbor/AT&T Stadium/Globe Life. There are several restaurants within a short drive. We went to Ft. Worth and Dallas a couple of times each, and being in the middle made both of those trips reasonable. + People at the front desk were always friendly and helpful. Even for the couple of issues we had, they did everything they could to help us out. + The suites are large, and we had plenty of room to spread out for a week. Everything in our room was in good condition, and it made it a nice place to come back to each day. + There was in-person hot breakfast every day. But, see below for some cons related to this. + There’s a fitness room (not high-end, but better than some). And there’s a pool. + They had a lot of cable channel options on the TV. I know this is minor for most people, but having recently stayed somewhere else with just a few channels, it made a difference. + Honestly, the price was very reasonable compared to what you get vs. other places – I think we got an excellent value here. Cons: - We had some issues with housekeeping. The new Covid restrictions mean they don’t come unless you request, which we understand. We requested housekeeping 3 days in, but they didn’t come; we had a Do-not-disturb sign on our door until 11 a.m., but I would have assumed they’d have still checked after that if that was the reason we got skipped. We were able to get towels from the front desk instead, and requested again the next day. That day they did come get trash and change towels, but didn’t make/change beds (we were expecting that). Tried again a third day and they did everything expected that day. - Minor thing, but if they’re going to limit housekeeping, it would help to have larger trash cans in the room. Ours sometimes filled up in a day… - The breakfast was the same (almost) every day we were there. Great for a day or two, but felt really old after a week. The hot items were eggs, biscuits, gravy, and 2 types of sausage (links, patties). There was bacon one day, and the eggs had cheese in them that same day, but no others. There were 2 waffle machines, 3 cold cereals (Cheerios, raisin bran, and something that looked like Wheaties), microwave oatmeal, and some breads/pastries (one day they had muffins, the others were a more limited set). As I read that list, it doesn’t seem that bad, but the fact that the cereals/oatmeal weren’t flavors I wanted, and the pastries/breads were very limited in variety (and after trying them also weren’t ones I liked) meant I was basically eating only sausage&eggs or waffles every day. - One weird thing at breakfast: my kids drank 1 or 2 cartons of milk every day. Over the time there, we encountered 3 cartons that were spoiled: as in chunky and clearly sour. The first time was as my daughter was drinking - not good! - and so later they were pouring them into cups first to check. We told the person the first day who seemed to either think it wasn’t a big deal or didn’t believe us, and encountered another one the next day. This can’t be a regular occurrence or they’d have been hearing about it more, but it was disturbing that it happened with multiple cartons over 2 days. - The business center/printer was not working, so the printing from your room was not available. The person at the front desk was able to print something from me, though. - The mini “store” area was mostly empty. Most snacks were gone (except the ice cream case was full), and they didn’t seem concerned about replenishing them. Maybe not a big deal, but our family wanted M&Ms one night, and with no candy there, it meant a drive to the nearby QT. - The fitness room was pretty tiny/cramped. The pool was surprisingly small/shallow (I think it was 3.5 feet at the deepest). My “always wants to swim” daughter didn’t even want to go. For some, though, the pool size/depth might be a plus. Again, overall we had a good visit, and would stay there again, but there were issues that kept it from being an “excellent” stay.

3 night stay

Reviewed 19 july, 2021

Hotel was very nice for the price and staff was friendly. Stayed here for three nights while in town to see a few Ranger games. The stadium complex is close but still about 1.5 miles away. Plenty of restaurants around the area. Not a top end hotel but would stay here again for the price.

Wonderful Stay

Reviewed 13 july, 2021

I only stayed here for one night and wish I would've stayed longer. Very clean, my room was huge! Breakfast wasn't the best but that's really due to COVID so I won't knock them for that. I felt very safe staying there as a sole female.
