A cozy oasis in Aspen!

Reviewed 16 december, 2021

Phenomenal little boutique hotel. Great location - walk to everything, great fun design, fantastic staff, overall relaxed atmosphere. Rooms are a modest, but the design and everything else more than compensates for that. Definitely would stay again. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. The included breakfast hit the spot. The lobby, breakfast tables and fireplace sitting area were very inviting.

Superb Convenient Boutique Hotel

Reviewed 20 october, 2021

I’m a bit late on this but my review will still be the same. My wife and I stayed here a few weeks before Christmas 2020 and I couldn’t have been more satisfied. The entire property has been updated and is very clean and modern but still retains the charm of a boutique hotel. Considering how outrageously priced Aspens Hotels can be this place is very reasonable and a good value, especially the few weeks before Christmas. The main lift to Aspen mountain is a simple 7 minute walk and there is no need start the car as all of the restaurants and drinking establishments are walkable. Also a simple but very satisfying breakfast is included every morning. I plan on being back next year to ski Aspen again (this year is Vail)...

Beware of "free" parking

Reviewed 13 september, 2021

This is a nice hotel, very much like the family run hotels in Europe - small corridors, small rooms, no elevator but clean, comfortable and well kept. I could have given them a 4 out of 5 except for one glaring issue. We only saw six dedicated parking spots for this hotel. Everything else is street parking. That means between 8:00AM and 6:00PM you only get the first two hours free. After that it's an $ 8.00 daily fee. If you're staying for several days and don't score one of the six you'll be paying to park. I did not see this notice anywhere on their website. It needs to be mentioned or the term "Free" needs to be qualified.

Loud banging in the morning, rude staff, uncomfortable bedding. small rooms

Reviewed 6 july, 2021

I rarely write reviews, but this is an exception. My now wife and I tried to book the Hotel Durant for our wedding and - after confirming ours and our friends' stay with the owner Brian Schaefer - we could not contact anyone at the hotel for nearly a month. We had told our friends to do the same, at the direction of Brian, and every one of them complained of the same irresponsiveness, inattentiveness, and subsequent unprofessionalism from the owner and booking staff. We showed up for our wedding weekend, realizing the owner had not heeded any of our requests, despite multiple phone calls and written communications. The hot tub was closed, the rooms were small, the bedding felt like it had already been slept in, the downstairs rooms were amazingly noisy - people walking overhead early in the morning - and the ineptness of the booking process was insult to injury. Brian called my wife repeatedly on our wedding day - apparently attempting to rectify the situation - only after our guests realized they weren't welcome - which was only due to the hotel's miscommunication. My wife and I aren't picky in the slightest, we only trusted the Hotel Durant with providing a space for us and our friends to enjoy our wedding weekend. They failed us miserably.

High, tight and right!

Reviewed 22 june, 2021

We just checked out of this boutique hotel today. Very happy with our stay. Quiet, clean, great beds, air conditioning, free continental breakfast, free parking, walking distance to downtown Aspen. Room is tight, my husband and I hit our knee about four times on bed frame, but sink/mirror area is very roomy. Love how modern and up to date this hotel is. Would definitely stay again.
