Great Location, Disappointing Staff and Service

Reviewed 14 january, 2022

We annually visit Aspen and have stayed at the St Regis on a number of occasions. Never have we been as disappointed as we were on this trip. Our guest room had a closet that was approx 4ft wide and 4ft long. It fit 2 ski jackets. We were a family of 4 with 5 luggages and a weeks worth of winter gear. There was absolutely no storage in the room. It was obvious we were given one of the last remaining guest rooms that was not designed for a family of 4. Next, the concierge failed to make a number of our dinner reservations even though I sent them a exact list of what I was looking for 30 days out which is when aspen restaurants begin taking reservations. We asked them to set up dog sledding (a $4,000 excursion) for our family + the family we were traveling with. We each have 2 adults and 2 kids. They had only booked 3 sleighs. When we arrived at the excursion 1 adult and 1 child did not have a sleigh to ride. The company blamed the concierge for being uneducated. We left with a crying child and were beyond disappointed. It truly ruined our day. We had to spend 2 hours at the concierge desk. They felt awful but the damage was done. Its been a week and im still waiting on my refund. On top of everything the concierge who booked it thought we had a 2.5 year old child (we don't we have a 5, 7, 7, 11) and left us a voicemail telling us when we get to the dog sledding company to lie and say our child is 3. What horrible advice to give to a family considering the dangers of a child under age riding a sleigh! Last but not lease accounting completely messed up our bill. A very simple bill where most meals were split by two rooms. We had to call the hotel 4x to get this cleared up. Overall we understand Covid has caused a lot of staff turn over ect but this was unacceptable for a luxury hotel in a luxury ski town. St. Regis staff put such a damper on our whole trip, before / during and after. Were beyond disappointed.

St. Regis Aspen Extraordinary Experience!!

Reviewed 10 january, 2022

We spent 5 nights at the St. Regis Aspen to celebrate our 34th wedding anniversary and must say they exceeded our expectations daily!! The 4:45 champagne sabering was such an unexpected treat, Matthew the sommelier shared a rare port for my husband and the concierge team went above and beyond to help us with reservations and address any other questions we had about the area. The hotel is in a perfect location with complimentary service to restaurants and airport. The Frette linens and bedding are delightful. The spa was heavenly with daily access with service… expensive but worth it! The breakfast was delicious and no problem to share which we appreciated. We cannot wait to return and bring the extended family to experience the St. Regis Aspen.

Horror show for $5k a night.

Badly understaffed and poorly managed. The staff is all from out of the country and mostly speaking English as a second language. Multiple mistakes were made by the staff every day. Extremely expensive with poor service. They even managed to get me food poisoning in the hotel for lunch. Shocking how bad this was for $5000 a night.

St Regis is in middle of aspen. Beautiful hotel with wonderful fireplace when you walk. The concierges are always working even late to accommodate their guests. And Burak gets a special shout out because when I wasn’t feeling fell he arranged pick ups from the pharmacy and the oxygen machine GO BURAK AND ALL THE TEAM at ST THE ST. REGIS. YOU ROCK!

What a Let Down

Reviewed 30 december, 2021

How sad, one of my favorite hotel chains has slid down hill like a triple diamond ski slope. Now owned and managed like a Marriot. I’ve stayed at many St. Regis hotels before this trip, it was my favorite, go to hotel. Sadly, not anymore. This is like McDonalds buying a top Steakhouse chain and running it with the same mentality.
