Great location in Athens

My husband and I stayed here for a day before our return flight the next day! This hotel was good and it is what I expected. Very centrally located and walkable to all the great destinations. It is actually right next to the themed cafe/restaurant which was an Alice In the Wonderland experience during my stay so there is definitely a crowd around and it's easy to remember where your hotel from the vibrant decor (lol)! The room itself was surprisingly spacious but still on the smaller side. I will say, the room does look a tad bit worn out, especially the bathroom which is quite tiny. But honestly, I was only there for one night so it didn't bother me too much since I spent most of the day outside. If my stay was longer then perhaps I wouldn't be the most comfortable, but that more of a personal preference! Overall I think this is a great place to stay if you are not fussed about the room and want to spend most of your time out exploring Athens and be in a very central location! Would recommend!
Greek hospitality at its best

We were stuck in the snowstorm and reached the hotel after a long and difficult journey. The staff had already left, but they were friendly enough to give us the code to the door. Out room was warm and comfortable and they best surprise was the view covered Akropolis in the morning. The rooms was comfortable and well equiped. The location is perfect, so we could even get some coffee and food in the neighbourhood, even though the city was in lockdown. The ataff was very helpful in arranging things for us.

The cab pulled up and a guy was there to take our bags. Check-in was easy. Room had a beautiful balcony with a clear view of the Partheon. It was 100 degrees the 3 days we were there so I was thankful for the view because we never made the climb. Had room service a few times and it was quick, hot, fresh and delicious. We needed a covid test before boarding our plane to come home. It was a Sunday and they still managed to find a guy that came to our room. Lovely place.
Great Place to Stay!

The hotel is in a very convenient location. The prices are very affordable and it has a beautiful view of the Parthenon from the rooftop terrace. The staff were so helpful and went out of their way to make things go smoothly for us. We needed help to find a testing site for Covid and also transportation to the port. The rooms are spotlessly clean. We would definitely stay again!
Not the Lodge we remember

This was our third stay at the Athens Lodge, but we are very sad to say that things have really changed, as other reviewers have noted. Our original reviews were top rate, but this visit left us feeling that things were off. It pained us because this was our “special place” in Athens. This hotel still has a lot going for it - great views from the upper rooms, cool design, and a vibrant location. The service and attention to detail that made the Lodge so great has, however, shifted. The rooms are showing some wear (canopies broken and unrepaired), housekeeping service is inconsistent (our first day our room was forgotten for housekeeping, the second day towels and coffee weren’t replaced), and the service style is remote. The AC in rooms has been locked at 18C, and we were constantly sweating in our room. The breakfast service - previously an absolute highlight - is below standard for Athens, to the point where some things in the limited selection were inedible, coffee always cold. Above all, not once did someone ask how our stay was, follow up on issues, or provide proactive offers of assistance or help - local tips, reservations, or any luggage assistance, as examples. Given the high price point, there are better options available. I hope that the hotel can pulls its socks up and turn things around - we know the pandemic has been very tough on everyone, but its future success depends on making some changes.
