Lumpy hard old mattress

Hotel seems to be an older property based on the layout, the fact that it’s a bit dark and gloomy, and the mattress was hard and lumpy. I’ve stayed at Hampton Inns in many cities and states, this was the only one that’s ever disappointed. The lady working the breakfast area the morning of checkout was super friendly, helpful, and cheerful. She was the saving grace for this property.
Dated hotel with no phone app access to open doors. Back doors will not even work.

Too many issues to report. GM manager had to clean my room and I waited 42 minutes to check in because the room was not clean or ready when I arrived at 4:20 PM. Door at rear of hotel not accessible due to defective electronic board that has been supposedly on order for last three months.
Mostly Pros, but a few Cons

My husband and I were doing a road trip this month and stayed at this hotel. Staff was friendly, helpful and wore masks. Check in was quick. Location is off freeway and close to restaurants, which is what we wanted. Hotel common areas and rooms were clean. Breakfast: was typical with scrambled eggs, sliced brat sausage, biscuits, canned fruit, pre-packed muffins, breads and cold cereal. Oatmeal was runny as was the gravy for the biscuits. PROS: Bed was comfortable and bath had good counter space. CONS: Only provided "squashable" pillows. Husband likes them, but I like a firmer pillow. Poor lighting in bath. Plug in bathtub didn't seal so when I took a bath, the water slowly drained out.

An older, but very well maintained Hampton Inn. Room was clean and sleep was very comfortable. WiFi functioned well. Outdoor pool is available and the property offers a decent fitness center. Breakfast was very good. Staff was all right. Well worth consideration if in the area.

As always, this was a pleasant stay. The room was good and the staff was nice and professional. I stay here regularly, and have never been disappointed. It’s not a brand new Hampton, but it’s still in good shape and is a good deal since it’s further away from Knoxville and Chattanooga.
