AMAZING staff and fabulous trip!
I wish I could give this location more stars. We’ve stayed at area HIE’s for years only to have the last couple experiences turn out very bad. Not this time! We were in the area to celebrate our anniversary and the staff at this Athens, TN made sure it was a great experience. We were greeted by Ashley at the front desk who we shared our past bad experiences with. She accommodated our request happily. The room was beautiful, clean, well stocked and the bed was comfy. The next morning housekeeping staff greeted us warmly with “good mornings” and “have a great day”. Breakfast was good and warm with a great selection. We came back to change for dinner and Ashely warmly greeted us with a surprise. A gift bag full of treats and a precious card signed by the staff to wish us a “Happy Anniversary”. What an AMAZING act of kindness. The next morning we were greeted once again not only to “good mornings” but “Happy Anniversary” too. We hope to return soon and see the same amazing staff.
Not Bad, Not Good
First the good: The shower was great (hot water & pressure). The bed was comfortable. The not as good: The building and rooms are starting to show their age. (Perhaps some remodeling is overdue) Front desk person didn't seem overly friendly. The breakfast was o.k. (the kitchen person was very nice and quite helpful.) All in all, Athens seemed to be a very nice little town, but I'd probably try the Hampton next door if we were to visit again
Another Great Hotel
The reception at this location was excellent. Ashley, the young lady at the Front Desk was warm and friendly. The guest room was very comfortable. Breakfast was hot and delicious. We would certainly return here again.
As expected for a HI Express
No matter what, I can’t be too critical as I cashed in Rewards points. The property is a little worn, but everything was clean and worked. I thought the bed was nice and firm. Had no problems w internet and bldg was quiet, but it didn’t seem too full. Breakfast had a decent selection but the quality of the hot stuff was only so-so. Coffee was acceptable.
We stayed here for my husbands work.
We arrived at this hotel very late. We got one of the last rooms, so the bathroom was a handicap room. The room and bathroom was clean, but the shower was horrible! When I tried to take a shower, very little water came out of the shower head. I've never had this experience before. I did not complain because we had to leave early the next morning to get to our destination.
