This is my new favorite hotel!! I am a Hyatt Globalist and we primarily stay at Hyatts however we chose this hotel because my husband is a car enthusiast and we visited Atlanta to drive cars at the Porsche Driving Experience. The hotel is literally next door to the Porsche Experience; you don't even need to cross a street to get to it. We were in a Trackview Suite. You could watch cars going around the track all day long if you wanted, as well as watch airplanes land at the airport. It was an amazing suite for our needs.
Front desk staff as well as staff at the Apron restaurant were welcoming. There is a large gated parking lot behind the hotel which felt very safe and convenient. We attended the free wine hour between 5-6 pm and had our choice of chardonnay or cabernet sauvignon. Rooftop lounge was also open in the evening and offered great views of the track as well as the airport.
Room was clean. Came with a refrigerator, microwave and Nespresso machine. Atelier Bloem toiletries in the bathroom and we found fresh towels in a bag proactively hanging on our door the second day as housekeeping will not enter your room. Windows are sound deadening so despite being next to the airport I slept like a baby every night. Blackout curtains also worked really well.
We will definitely be back!

Went to Apron's for my birthday celebration. Was met by David Hermsillo and shown our table. We decided we wanted to go to the rooftop lounge first so he informed us that he would hold our table unless we told him to cancel it no matter how long it was before we came down. Enjoyed the food, the drinks, the atmosphere and especially the service. Special shout out to David for a delicious glass of champayne for me on my birthday.

First of all, I am Spire Elite, the highest level in the IHG loyalty program. My family and I stay at more than 20 hotels a year and nearly all of them are in the IHG family, dominated by Intercontentials, Indigos, and Kimpton's as we generally find them the best of the brand. This hotel was, along with the DeWitt in Amsterdam and the Monoco in Chicago, one of my FAVORITE IHG properties I have ever stayed in. The location is incredible- you can watch planes taking off and landing, and Porsche's racing all at the same time. As a mom of two boys (16 and 11), both were begging us to stay again and longer (we only stayed for a night prior to an early flight from ATL the next morning). Even the hotel airport shuttle could best be described as Luxe! We were upgraded to what amounted to a 3 room suite from my original booking of a double (for the boys) and a single (for my husband and I). When I missed the cocktail hour due to a Zoom work meeting that ran over, they sent a bottle of wine up. The restaurant was amazing and every staff member we encountered was incredible. I often find that hotels are one of two things- luxurious or family-friendly, but this place managed to get both right and without pretense or pandering. We typically stay at one of the Indigos downtown (both nice), or the Intercontinental in Buckhead (also lovely), but the Kimpton Overland will be the ONLY place we stay in Atlanta from now on!
Odd design, cleanliness and service issues

Poorly designed room, odd common areas, and slow service at restaurant. Our room’s carpet seemed sticky and didn’t feel all that fresh. The bathroom area is open to the room with limited privacy aside from a water closet. Smaller TV than expected (less than 40”) with the rear cords hanging exposed instead of hidden. The tile in the bathroom didn’t seem clean either. The grout definitely had staining in higher traffic areas, indicating less than intensive or consistent cleaning. As for the lobby area and adjacent seating, it just seems cheap and not up to the typical Kimpton standard. There are just lots of white walls with furniture placed in a large room. Hardly any pictures, built-ins, or textured walls. If one has stayed at Renaissance in the airport, the difference is significant. As for service at the restaurant, I don’t think it should take 10-15 minutes to get coffee and have to tract down staff for refills and the check. Overall, I would not compare this Kimpton to the Renaissance at the airport or compare it to Kimpton’s in other markets.

This hotel is amazing. It started from the very beginning. You are greeted with wonderful people. The staff is amazing. Harold and Jordan go beyond the call of duty. They explain the restaurants on sight, discuss your accommodations. You will also get a text that says the following:
Good morning, Thank you for staying with us @ Kimpton Overland. If you need anything during your stay, don't hesitate to text us back! -Harold
Who does that? That is what you call first class.
If I was to rate the staff(Jordan &Harold) on a scale of 1-10, they would receive a 10+. They are very kind, and patience. They will help you with whatever you need. Harold is very friendly, He goes that extra mile to accommodate you. He is an asset to the organization. Jordan is on the ball, she will recommend other Kimpton for you to stay at.
It was amazing. The room looks just like the pictures on line. I had a connecting room. We had 2 rooms. A suite and two double beds. The rooms were very, very clean!!!! The rooms smell so fresh. They are definitely doing the correct process for Covid. I am very concerned about Covid and they follow protocol. The elevator has a note stating the limit is 3. The elevator also has a hand sanitizer machine. That is great protection. If you are looking for a place to stay that has great customer service, excellent location, very very clean room and hotel is beautiful and clean, a rooftop bar and close by the airport and a beautiful view of the Porsche Experience Center. Look no further, this is the one, ask for Jordan and Harold. They are wonderful. They made my experience unbelievable. This Hotel is a 10+.
