Our favorite B&B in the Austin area

When it comes to B&B's, Casa del Sol is pretty much my idea of heaven on earth. My family and I have now stayed there three times, and cannot wait until our next Hill Country vacation to come back. My husband and I love the White Cloud Suite, which is extremely private and romantic. You feel completely away from the world as soon as you have ascended the spiral staircase. There is nothing like reading or doing yoga on your own private balcony overlooking treetops and Lake Travis. Another favorite aspect of it is the Shower with a View!! The bed up there is Tempurpedic and you can adjust your level of hardness or softness. The other room we have stayed at is the large Lavender Suite on the ground floor, next to the Jacuzzi tub and the pool with the beautiful grounds. It has two rooms which allowed my Mom to have her own space, and it has a huge dining table and a large couch. Both these rooms have kitchenettes with a microwave oven, coffee pot, a small fridge, etc. Another room where we spent one night is the Golden Sun Suite, which has a true kitchen with a stove, oven, and a big fridge. I have talked to a guest who regularly uses the oven for baking treats to take to her family in Austin. The breakfasts are all organic, including the coffee, and the baked goods especially are heavenly. The location is excellent, too, with a short drive to parks, restaurants, and shops. In brief, a great stay!!
So Bad we didn’t stay

Upon arrival found the place is not like any bed and breakfast I have stayed at but only a tiny apartment. No view. Amenities are all shared and not stated that way. “Kitchenette” was in a closet.NOT dog friendly as advertised and simply a joke. Only way In was up a tiny metal spiral staircase. The door inside the room is locked. Super claustrophobic. Don’t waste your time or money. They were happy to keep ours.

My sister and I stayed in the Garden Room for our long-weekend Austin visit. The property is peaceful, lush, and calming. We had great directions to find the B&B and our parking spot. The room was clean, the bed comfy, and we enjoyed the fresh orange juice, coffee and pastries each morning. The only suggestion would be stocking the mini-fridge with filtered water for the coffeemaker (getting it from the bathroom sink/shower wasn't super appealing). The B&B ended up being a great location for our adventures that took us in different directions each day. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We stayed for a few days in the garden room. It was a convenient location for us as we were roaming in the hill country during the day. We could enjoy a nice and private location in the evening. A BBQ pit added just a convenient way for grilling, tables and chairs added a nice touch. Nice and friendly people were helpful in many ways.
