Pleasant Staff, decent rooms. poor housekeeping

Reviewed 24 january, 2022

Stayed here 3 nights during the week. Hotel was located near interstate, but not in best location. Highway noise was disturbing during the night. Free parking was a plus, but the access to parking garage was a bit convoluted. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Full Breakfast was a plus. Rooms were decent. We needed to rest late the first AM and asked housekeeping to come back later in the day. They never serviced the room that day or the next. We had to request towels on the AM of checkout.

Good location

This hotel is centrally located in Austin along I-35, It is an older property but still is well maintained. The rooms were nice, the round tower has some wasted room space and tiny closet. I found the bed comfortable and the work space very adequate. The noise from the highway was not noticeable.

Stay at Own Risk - Avoid Holiday Inn at all Costs

Reviewed 25 december, 2021

“AVOID HOLIDAY INN HOTEL CHAIN AT ALL COSTS”. Thanks to Holiday Inn Hotel’s failure to provide its customers and guests with any security in its parking garage in the Austin Texas Town Lake location, all of our Christmas gifts were stolen and our car was vandalized and broken into. There was minimal to no lighting in the garage, which also led to me falling while walking to the elevators to access the hotel lobby. The garage required a room card key to access the parking garage, yet the management claims Holiday Inn is not responsible. The management also indicated there are no cameras and no safety patrol officers in the garage. Two of the employees indicated that vandelism and theft are a common occurrence at this location and Holiday Inn knowingly turns a blind eye and still refuses to address the issue and install cameras, etc. One employee even went so far as to say that Holiday Inn installs cameras and safety precautions on the inside of their hotel to protect the employees and their own property but refuses to provide safety cameras and/security patrol to protect its guests. Several of our wrapped gifts were very heavy boxes of new cookware sets for family members which would require the thieves to carry them down 3 floors. Either this was theft from a internal Holiday Inn employee or someone staying at the hotel who had a car in the garage. All 3-4 vehicles on our floor were broken into. I would recommend to everyone to avoid this hotel chain at all costs.

Mediocre at best

Reviewed 5 december, 2021

This hotel doesn’t stand up to the Holliday inn standards. The beddings are not as comfy and fluffy as in the rest of the HI hotels around the country. There was no exhaust fan in our bathroom, the shower was leaking and at one point as we left the room and closed the door, a safety latch popped up and we got completely locked out of the room - it was locked from the inside (had to wait for a technician to open it). The complementary shuttle is a joke - on the arrival we had to wait for 1 hour to be picked up from the airport. They only send a shuttle if there a flight crew to be picked-up/ dropped-off — we noticed there was a lot of flight personnel staying at the hotel, so the shuttle services are really for them, not for room guests. On our departure day we had to leave early in the morning to make our flight, and they still would not provide one. We had to take a $60 Uber. I would give 2 stars if it wouldn’t be for a nice room view and a good location.

Dated but serviceable

This is one of the more dated Holiday Inns that I have visited. The reception and bar areas are modern and pleasant. The rest of the hotel is brown and dated, although clean and serviceable. The rooftop pool is nice and has lovely views of the river.
