Hotel Thermalis

Bad Hersfeld "altstadt" is a pisttoresque city - and the hotel is only a short stroll from there. Beautiful park for a stroll. Nice for a stopover from Italy/France (if you live in Denmark) One good advice for this hotel must be to recognize the need for either to quit the evening buffet and declare that their "restaurant" is only for breakfast, or increase ambition/quality substantially. In other words - AVOID evening buffet/Restaurant Rossa.

Nothing wrong with the room, everything was super tidy and clean, but the atmosphere, look and feel was a bit like a sanatorium or luxury retirement home. Don’t take your missus there for a romantic weekend 😂 Restaurant to be given a miss for dinner unless you like dried up buffet food, albeit high quality. Breakfast buffet was ok, limited selection.

Just spent one night in this hotel after long driving from Denmark on our journey to Spain. Room is very high and unfortunately no air condition at all but high rooms are keeping air in the room cooler. Especially night staff Lady B. Wyland was absolutely great!!! Breakfast was basic but fresh and good. A lots of parking space available. Hotel is little bit difficult to find but we managed even GPS said little bit different.

This hotel is rated as a 4 stars one according to German hotel norm in a lovely city _Bad Hersfeld_which is located almost 1.5 km from Bad Hersfeld main train station next to a large natural park (Am Kurbad). It's possible to walk from this station to hotel, but the street names are not clear enough for a stranger and you may get lost! To get the station by train you need around 2 hours from Frankfurt airport and maybe the same time required from Erfurt. (a few non-stop trains move between Air port/Flughafen air port and Bad Hersfeld/ICE trains) Generally for strangers, it's recommend to approach here by a private car equipped with a good GPS system or taxi. It seems that local people know here as Kurbad Hotel or Kurbad therm am Kurpark and not familiar with what is officially called "Thermalis". Here is very nice place to relax in a tranquil area. Rooms are spacious, spotless and modern , despite of English ability of people works at the hotel, all (specially at restaurant) are friendly and willing to help. There is a heated inner pool with sauna and SPA facilities but for SPA you have to book a couple of days earlier and before that try to improve your German! Cost of using swimming pool area was around 12 Euro, SPA has extra costs according to German price-list. Cons. which are far from a 4 star hotels are: -No in-room kettle -No slippers (you can buy if you pay) -No fridge/mini-bar (but 3 bottle of mineral water were served free of charge) -Sanitary products in the room were Shampoo (one type body+hair), Liquid soap , bin liners -No air-conditioning rooms (but windows can be opened) I am wishing all the best for the people at Hotel Thermalis and even in case of no improvements, if i travel again to Bad Hersfeld will stay again with them.

Rooms were clean and quiet. Location is nice, 15 mins walk from the town where you can have a nice coffee or meal. Staff was friendly. Average breakfast for the price. Please improve road signage which guides to the hotel. I arrived by car and even though I used the satnav it was not easy to find.
