Fourth stay - 1x Hilton, 3x HGVC side. Empty nest couple - 1 working remotely. Excellent wifi to work remote - consistently good in HGVC room - even shared video for a couple Teams meetings. Nicely kept grounds. Attendants keep pool and chair areas tidy. Cabana rental available - couple different sizes (1-2 p vs up to 8 p) and locations (poolside or by the beach). We loved renting the easternmost beach cabana - felt like we had the whole area to ourselves since the next cabana was not rented and the middle structure was for spa massages at the beach. Easy walks down ramps or stairs to wide beach that can be rough but is swimmable. Convenient on property equipment rental and lessons outfit that now has an E-Foil! Also has the more standard paddleboard, jet ski and snorkel gear rentals. Concierge was helpful with tips on how to get around and suggestions, and translating / coordinating a refund when we could not use all of the equipment time we reserved (rough waves a couple days). Had issues - good recovery: wife had picked out good pool spots to enjoy her vacation and was woken up in different days because Corporate groups had reserved an entire area though the hotel side and we as HGVC owners were told we “needed to leave the area”, even though the chairs she was using were on the HGVC side. Wife found it was better to leave anyway because of the group’s noise level not being conducive to a relaxing vacation, but there was no warning about any later-in-the-day reservations as such anywhere. We merely informed the first desk the first time, and they apologized. After the second time, the front desk manager offered the use of a cabana and comped it. At least on our last couple days, they had nicely printed signs set out warning patrons about corporate reservations later in the day (the workers did not take the signs down after the event though so the area ended up quite nice and peaceful afterwards but figure that the pool bar workers would have rather had it a bit busier). Cactus Car Rental has now replaced the old National Car Rental. It’s not open at all hours so check if you want to rent a vehicle, which we have found very useful during past trips. Uber does pick up outside the guard shack. Fares: - Cabo (~ 280MX) … had to get our Tacos Guss fix!!!! … and Massages at the Sand Bar! - La Fresca supermarket to the east (- 140MX to / 80MX return - diff due to divided highway) - Hilton to airport was -511MX. To hail an Uber from the airport area at the start of your trip, you have to walk your luggage to the hotel or the rental car areas across the airport highway. Not worth it. HGVC studio Room was nice - especially the jetted tub. We reserved a floor 2-5 and got a floor 2 … a bit annoying but oh well. Motorized privacy screens. Nice balcony with two chairs and a small table overlooking a strangely empty sandy area that might be above the kids camp area. No kids really at the property though in early November. We did have a couple problems with the bathroom - a door handle came apart in our hands while opening the door, and midway through the stay, a sewer odor starting coming from the bathroom. Maintenance fixed each same day. Kitchenette has a bar sink, under-counter fridge, mini Keurig, and a microwave. Actually noticed on the last day that the microwave is also a convection oven. Comfortable king bed, sturdy enough table area to work from, but the room had a pretty useless half-width couch type thing that was not really comfortable to sit on for any period of time. It was nice to put decorative pillows on but that’s about it. Restaurants on site are some of the best “tourist” places in SJD. All-inclusive is optional, but if you start the AI, it lasts from that day through the end of your stay. Most people just do AI through their stay. We got groceries and did trips into Cabo for Day 1-5 and then Hilton Resort AI our last day - enjoying cocktails, lunch, dinner, room service, and brunch before departing for the airport. - Cocktails - beautiful setting but slow service at Sotol off the lobby. - Lunch - Leña by the main pool has fantastic tacos and burgers, and I love the pastor pizza! - Dinner - Vela (Mediterranean) was great and service was attentive. We had an interior table, which increased the noise level. Try to get an outdoor table if you can reserve one. My seafood risotto was good and wife’s steak was amazing. - Room service - dessert - Brunch - this resort is kind of famous for its breakfast spread and outdoor seating with great ocean views. Did not disappoint. Great variety, pancakes & eggs to order station, healthy “green juice”, and great coffee. Great way to end the remote work / vacation time. Gym was well equipped with both indoor and outdoor choices. Much sanitizer available. Temperatures taken before entry during Covid. Free bottle of water for your workout is a nice touch as well. Nice sundries store with Resort prices, but nice café/ ice cream shop there too. We did cave in and did the owners update on the last weekday. Salesperson was actually informative and sympathetic to our last bad OU experience. Good to hear about the Resort inventory expansion with the recent acquisitions, and the La Pacifica updates themselves. After my wife’s wake up and get out experiences, they did give us a decent # of HHonors points our time. Did not end up changing our current HGVC plan though. Would for sure come again. La Pacifica is one of our favorite places to enjoy HGVC.

We've stayed in many luxury hotels around the world and this place ranks up in the top 3 for us! The service was impeccable - the waiters, bartenders, housekeeping, the front desk, concierge. We got a partial-ocean view studio on a "high floor" and the view was amazing! It's hard not to have a good ocean view the way the hotel is designed and the coast is shaped. The room was large, with lovely spacious bathroom, good lighting, great mirrors. The artwork throughout the hotel was stunning. The restaurants were wonderful. Talavera had top notch Mexican food - wonderful mole dishes and baked fish. Shout out to Ramiro, our wonderful waiter!! Vella, the Italian Restaurant, was fabulous as well. A great selection of wines at both restaurants. The main bar was top notch - served an excellent martini, amazing margaritas, and yummy ceviche. There are several large pools and hot tubs, and one large pool is geared more for children. They've thought of every type of outdoor seating - by the pools and on the beach. The location is between the cities of Cabo San Lucas and San Jose, so it's more quiet, much less crowded, much less party scene than in Cabo. No humongous cruise ships blocking the ocean and land views! Great for whale watching and lots of beach activities, including horseback riding. My first visit to Cabo was too touristy and rowdy. After this wonderful stay at La Pacifica, we'll be back!!

If it weren't for the very frustrating billing issue, I would have given this property a five star rating. At check in we presented our Hilton American Express card and after several attempts at running the card, they said they were having problems with American Express and did we have a VISA or Master Card. I then presented my VISA card. Because of the large amount of bonus points I would earn by using the Hilton AMEX card, I really wanted that card to be used. Strangely, they could charge incidentals to the card. A day later I returned to the front desk to ask if they could now charge the actual room to the AMEX card and was told yes it would be. After returning home, the Hilton AMEX card was used for the incidentals and the VISA card for the room charges.
