Surprisingly lovely hotel

We came up here in early September 2019 to escape Budapest on a budget... we were not disappointed. The hotel is right beside Lake Balaton and a ten minute walk to the main drag of gift shops and restaurants. The hotel exterior has a Wes Anderson-style and the grounds are kept immaculately clean and tidy, particularly the pool and lounge area, which also has their own outdoor toilet facilities which are very pleasant and private.
The receptionists are very polite and fluent in English, and more than willing to help. The room we stayed in for one night was quite old school, late 80’s decor and furniture - but it was spotless and had all the amenities you need. However, the shampoo/body wash dispenser in the shower was watered down, presumably to save on using more product, so you can’t really wash yourself with it - bring your own shampoo and body wash if staying here.
In the evening we went downstairs to the lobby area and were greeted with an amazing smell of food. Dinner was a self-service buffet and contained many samples of dishes and combinations for all tastes - vegetarian included. I recommend the pork in Sicilian style sauce - delicious! For a 3 star hotel, the food was surprisingly fresh and bountiful. Again, the staff in the dining area were super helpful and always willing to assist with a smile. The facilities were clean and we thoroughly enjoyed this experience. Breakfast the next morning was fabulous with so much choices of food - cold cut meats, salads, cheeses, fruits, cereals, vegetables, wide variety of coffees and teas, bratwurst sausages, scrambled eggs, breads etc. In my opinion the staff put in huge effort in simply preparing the breakfast platter and it was noticed by fellow guests - very commendable.
Overall, the two of us had a lovely experience in this quaint hotel. In order of preference, I would give #1 for the staff, #2 for the food, #3 for the room and facilities.
I would recommend this hotel for budget seekers with a large appetite who enjoy strong customer service.
Thank you for having us!
Wonderful family holiday here again!

Well run hotel with friendly and very helpful staff. Breakfast and dinner had a wide variety of choices, all delicious. The pool is great for kids and the wellness centre was appreciated on a rainy day. Only a short walk to the town centre so a good location too.
This was our 3rd visit and hope to be back again next year as we always feel welcome as a family.
Ok hotel on north side of Balaton.

One section of the hotel is newer than the other sections. We paid 20 euro a night extra to change from an older room to a newer 1 bedroom (suite?) room. The older room was worn. Furniture was chipped. Paint peeling. Newer wing (newer, not new) felt cleaner and brighter. Suite has a pull out couch. Only tv is in bedroom. Balcony is big. Cannot see Balaton from room.
One issue: Room seemed clean. But in mini fridge, sandwiches and open drinks were left. Housekeeping insisted the room was cleaned days ago and they dont know how food made it into the fridge. Based on that we had bed sheets and towels changed.
Other than this incident, rest of stay was uneventful. A/C worked fine. Included breakfast was ok. Eggs, hot dogs/sausages, cereals, breads, cold cuts, cheese, etc. Outdoor pool was unheated. Indoor hot tubs closed before we got back from sightseeing, so cannot say how it was. Make sure to ask when the spa area closes. Plenty of free parking. There were quite a few families with children staying here. Nice view of a vineyard next door.
Overall, an acceptable simple place to stay
Absolutely fine hotel

It's a quite nice, a bit old style hotel which has new parts like the wellness area and half of the rooms. We got a room from the older ones. It was fine: the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was a bit oldish, but ok. And we had a nice balcony. The receptionist lady was a bit slow, but friendly and helpful. The breakfast was varied and enough, the coffee is great.
They have a playground! :)

Spent a lovely few days with family just before Easter in this family run hotel. We were a little apprehensive after mixed reviews, but found it to be very pleasant indeed, immaculate common spaces and well appointed rooms. We stayed in the new wing which was lovely and clean with a massive bathroom and walkin shower. The food was delicious, real home cooked Hungarian flavours, it's a limited selection which reflects the guest volumes at any given time; but is lovely all the same. The spa is small, but perfectly formed with a variety of saunas at different temperatures; great when the weathers a little chillier. All in all it reflect excellent value for money, I have paid theee times more elsewhere and been bitterly disappointed; while this exceeds your expectation.
