Superb Location

Excellent location, equidistant between the beach and las ramblas. Adjacent the train/metro links plus close to the gothic quarter & El Born. Rooms were impeccably clean, modern with good A/C & WIFI…even on the 5th floor. Would definitely return

Great hotel for short stay

Location was excellent…walking distance to beach, restaurants and Metro. Room was very clean albeit a little small. .. beds comfortable.Great breakfast included with plenty of choices. Staff were friendly and attentive.Free wifi ... Air conditioning and lift. Definitely seems more than 2 star … price very reasonable . Highly recommended for a great short stay in Central Barcelona.

I had a double room (thought that I'd asked for a double). Smallish room but comfortable. Aircon worked, although control was on the wall and not reachable from bed. The temperature control didn't seem to make any difference. Excellent shower pressure. Staff are excellent, friendly and helpful.

Good location but disappointing breakfast

This hotel was great for location. Helpful & friendly staff. However the breakfast was such a let down we didn't go after the first day. Nothing that me or my son liked. No mirror on dressing table which when doing hair/makeup wasn't great. Shower was good sizing, bed was super comfy, best me & my son have slept in ages. Would visit again but think the breakfast choices need looking at as i have seen this been a common complaint.

2 Star hotel feels like 3 Star hotel

This hotel, nothing to write home about from the outside, is very warm and welcoming from inside. Providing clean, comfortable and modern rooms at a moderate price, the Santa Marta is situated just off the Pla de Palau (good public transport connections) between Barceloneta and the Barri Gotic. Due to the central location, it stays quite loud at night (the bin men come at 2am!), however the windows shut out the noise well. Breakfast is the typical Mediterranean set up: rolls, yogurt, boiled eggs, jam and honey. Nothing special but good enough to start the day. From here, many attractions can be reached on foot (harbor, beach, ancient quarters, Barceloneta, a number of museums), great bars and restaurants are also close by.
