Don’t waste your money

The hotel is run down and dirty - it feels like a converted apartment building complex. The lifeguards and water park staff are rude and anything but helpful. They don’t disclose on the hotel website that you need to be 48 inches to ride the slides (it is on the water park website but not the hotel website where we booked our room - specifically for the water park). The small kid section of the water park was closed for maintenance. You are required to float in a tube to participate in the lazy river. The rooms are overpriced for the accommodations. After 30 mins we attempted to get a refund a leave and we were told no refund would be given because it was too late in the evening despite arriving only 30mins earlier and discovering the hotel conditions. Just don’t do it. Take your kids to a real water park and stay at a clean hotel.
Going downhill fast

We’ve been staying at Cape Codder for 15 years. This last stay was the last time they’ll see us. It’s a shame that ever since they renovated with the lazy river, things started getting shabby.
Had ground level room and location is perfect. However, People on second floor banging/jumping/dancing ALL night. Called front desk and security told us they couldn’t find the room making the noise. Didn’t sleep as noise went through the night like the people upstairs didn’t go to sleep! At checkout, I told front desk clerk about it. Her response was “next time you should book a room on the second floor”… Really!?!? This place used to be high end and now it’s turned into a rundown resort with a lazy river where parents let their kids run wild unsupervised. Not to mention, bathroom floor still had hair from the last people who used the room. You can tell the floor wasn’t cleaned. Ewww. Never will stay again!
I booked before reading the reviews!

And I'm so glad I did. My husband and I were looking for a quick little getaway from NY with our 5 year old son, having decided on Cape Cod since neither of us had ever been. I came across the Cape Codder through basic internet search and the pictures looked great. We had no real agenda so didn't have any real requirements besides an indoor pool. Finding something with an indoor Waterpark sealed the deal. I booked directly through the hotel, having found a better rate and greater understanding of waterpark tickets, which are included in all stays when booked through the hotel.
We arrived around 7:30pm, greeted by Chris at the front desk. He was welcoming and really informative. We even got to check out the waterpark for about an hour before it closed for the night. We got in the lazy river and the wave pool. My son loved the kiddie area. He wasn't able to ride the slides since he isn't yet 48", and not allowed in the hot tub because of his age. We still had plenty to do.
A few days later we got to enjoy the outside heated pool and hot tub. All pool facilities were clean and well staffed with attentive lifeguards.
Our room with double queen beds, lazy river view, was perfect for what we needed. The AC unit had a little damage of a flap that wouldn't stay in place, but we improvised a "fix", and there were a few areas that could have benefitted from a little TLC, but nothing that bothered us to the point we would want to complain. The beds/sheets and other linens were all clean with ample towels. Housekeeping not available due to covid, but additional towels available by calling front desk.
We were fortunate because we came towards to end of the season so not faced with much of a crowd at the pools. I could definitely see the popularity of the waterpark and large crowds at other times, though. Masks are not required, so if this is important for you Cape Codder may not be the right place. We, however, loved our time there and will definitely be coming back!
