The Estelar en Alto Prado is a magnificent city hotel, housed in a modern building, situated in the renowned and exclusive area beside the Barranquilla Country Club. It is very close to the cathedral of Barranquilla and the University of the Atlantic. The hotel boasts excellent facilities including a business centre, and provides a warm and efficient service; very convenient for business travellers.

This used to be perhaps the best hotel in the city until the pandemic changed everything. The employees are working very hard as always to bring this hotel back online as the best but there still are issues that need to be addressed beyond their control. The pandemic changed the presentation of the breakfast buffet which used to be the best ever and now it is average due to covid restrictions. Management needs to get the Jacuzzi fixed after three years it being not functionable. A/c in rooms should be maintained regularly and not only when they stop operating. All in all this is still one of the best hotels in the city but it can be better.

Excellent hotel. In my opinion the number one hotel to stay when you are in the city. Service, rooms, restaurant, are all exceptional. You will find everything you need within the hotel or very nearby. All the staff are very knowledgeable of the area and will be very attentive to your needs.

A great place to stay for Carnaval
Reviewed 2 march, 2020
Myself and 5 lads split a few rooms at Estalar to explore the Carnaval. It proved to be a good base of operations with the parades to the North and some great street parties around the stadium to the South. Sure the prices surged for their busiest weekend, but even then only no more North American prices. The interior was clean and the architectural as bold and colourful. The service was great. The pool was a nice touch (though was a bit cold early in the day), as was the complementary buffet lunch. Only gripes would be the dingy exterior windows had lots a condensation and the toilets weren't the strongest. But other than that, a geniune 4 star hotel.
