This is a very old Embassy Suites and looks nothing as nice as the photos on the website. The website photos look bright, clean and new but this hotel is old, dark and dirty. We had booked 2 nights but found another hotel the 2nd night because I couldn’t take the nastiness a 2nd night. The breakfast buffet staff is AMAZING and made our stay there great.
Not to Hilton standards…

This is a tired Embassy Suites and I’m need of a complete overhaul. Our room had a hole in the bathroom door that had a poor patch job. Carpets stained and worn throughout. Bathroom was so dirty I wore flip flops while showering. The mattress on the bed was sagging and you could feel springs in it. We were just passing through and too tired to complain but I suspect the other rooms wouldn’t have been much better. This is not Hilton quality I am accustomed to. 2 stars were for the pleasant staff that we interacted with during breakfast. They were 5 star. Hotel, not so much.
Terrible Embassy Suites

I stayed at this hotel 15 years ago and the rooms have not been upgraded since then. I frequent Baton Rouge for business and normally stay at the Renaissance or Marriott, but both were booked this time. The carpet was nasty/stained, the office chair torn, the furniture old, the room musty, the paint peeling, and the ceiling deteriorating. The only positive was the lobby and breakfast which was par for an Embassy Suites. This hotel does not meet the standards of their flag and I will be contacting Hilton corporate to investigate this hotel for not meeting the standards of the flag. The rooms are along the lines of a 2-star hotel. I will commute from outside the city before staying here again.

The hotel has some curb appeal and the entryways and lobby is nice. The front desk staff was friendly. However, the rooms need work as they are very outdated. The full size beds were uncomfortable. The bathroom needs to be gutted and start over; it looks like they try to paint over water damage. The ceiling was pealing, the door was hard to close, you have to flush the toilet twice just for #1 and the area under the sink where the towels were looked dirty. The lighting was terrible. When I finally settled to go to sleep, a brown roach crawled out of the vent. Needless to say, I began looking for other hotels but the area was sold out. I contemplated sleeping in the car with my family. Due to the high demand, I paid almost $400 for 1 night to lay (not much sleep) until the sun came up. I do not recommend this location.
Do not stay here

The room was dirty, furniture was filthy rusty and torn. Bathroom was rusty and molded. The mattress was lumpy. The staff apologized stating they were going to be updated soon and due to COVID they could not get their carpets cleaned. The carpets look like they hadn’t been cleaned in almost 2 years.
