Great little cottage just a few blocks from the beach in Bay St Louis. Literally within walking distance to all shops and restaurants. Well worth the price, very clean, and very well located. Would stay here again.

Pet Friendly with a Great Breakfast

Reviewed 19 may, 2019

We selected the Carroll House from a major hotel search engine website, and while their website makes clear that there are they are a pet friendly establishment and that there are cats that frequent the outdoor spaces I didn't realize this until we were at the facility. We spent little time on the porch were there for Pirate Weekend and I did not find the cats intrusive or aggressive was able to sit on the porch read my book drink coffee... BUT were I allergic I could see this as a major issue. perhaps it should be stressed in the disclosures or confirmation. Our room was very nice with a private entrance. The common spaces well kept and quaint. A very nice breakfast was served 8:30-9;30 and the meal was different but excellent both of the mornings we were there, I probably would seek lodging elsewhere.. (only for the cat issues) but it is a solid choice walkable to shops and restaurants and made for a very nice weekend escape.

Wonderful - Relaxing

Reviewed 5 february, 2019

We just got home from a 3 day stay. What a wonderful relaxing time we had. The food is amazing. Jane, the innkeeper, is exceptional, we so enjoyed speaking with her and leaning about her city. If you are looking for a place to stay in Bay St. Louis, this is it. We loved it so much we are going back next month!!

adequate, nothing special

Reviewed 1 february, 2019

We took a week long road trip around MS. Only booked ahead the night we arrived in town, which was at this B&B. All the others we made in the evening as we arrived. Once the week was over and we compared the various B&B's we stayed in, we realized this one was the most expensive and was not a great value. Kevin met us when we arrived and was very nice and helpful. He recommended a good restaurant ( not a lot in town to choose from..) We only met Jane very briefly at breakfast as she had to leave to oversee a boutique she is opening. We do not have a bath tub so I was looking forward to using the tub, but the plug was too small and would not keep the water in, the shower flow was poor, the rocking chair was stained so you could not sit on it , the TV remote did not work and when mentioned the next day they were already aware of it,the 2 pillow shams were dirty, the bed pillows were flat, had to move 2 pieces of furniture to get the lamp cords to reach, every where else we stayed bottled water was offered in the room or a fridge nearby, here they charge $1.00, though cookies were on the kitchen island for guests. Its not a bad place, its just that the costs does not match the amenities offered.

Relaxing Weekend

Reviewed 8 january, 2019

Came to Bay St Louis for a birthday party and relaxing weekend. Jane greeted me upon arrival. The aroma of jam cooking in the kitchen gave a wonderful inviting feel. I chose the Carroll House for its pet friendly policy and not a motel. Found the property charchming, clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the yard and surrounding area for walking my dog. My dog was entertained by Tinkerbell and the outside cats. Surprised to learn that my room had a mini-frig - perfect for the cold items I need when traveling. The property is within walking distance of waterfront, shops and restaurants. Enjoyed the delicious breakfast served daily and conversation with Jane, Kevin and other guests. Liked having off-the-street parking. I was comfortable and enjoyed staying at Carroll House. Will definitely stay here again!
