Fantastic customer service
We stayed here this past week due to a family emergency that had us in town longer than anticipated. The staff at this hotel went above and beyond to make our stay as pleasant as possible. I can't say enough about them. The hotel was also very clean and the food was great.
Book somewhere else!!
This hotel is not for big families. The breakfast attendant is extraordinarily rude and refused to serve my family very blatantly. We needed food for 6 children, her excuse each day was if we are served no one else can be served. We were unable to get any hot food and were talked down to and treated like a burden, twice with a few of our children right there. We also booked an adjoining room only to learn they only had one set in the building and it was impossible to get. So after spending over 1000 to be there in rooms I did not request; we couldn’t even enjoy the breakfast that I paid for. Our rooms were only cleaned one day out of the 4 night stay. I will never ever ever ever book at a holiday inn. Our stay was so bad we canceled our last night of stay. The breakfast attendant truly shouldn’t work that area because she ruined our entire time there with her demeaning attitude. No one should ever say they refuse to help a paying guest.
Very Disappointed
I am a gold elite IHG member and have stayed at many IHG properties. I have never had a such a terrible experience as my stay at this hotel. First, a few positives to be fair. The housekeeper on our floor was very friendly and attentive to our needs. The room was clean and updated and had all the amenities we needed. Now for the bad. Half the lobby staff (and I don't need to identify specific people, I'm sure the owner knows who are the good and bad ones) were nasty and downright cold. There were 2 nice ladies working the front desk, the others were horrible. They were unfriendly, not helpful with the coffee, and just evoked the feeling they didn't want to be there and you were bothering them. The breakfast staff were also a problem. I wanted to bring my breakfast to my room to heat it later in the microwave, and as it was served in a styrofoam container, I asked for a paper plate. Nope, not allowed. I asked for a paper towel to heat my food on in the room. Nope says the breakfast lady, "I can't give you paper towel!" I'm thinking to myself, is this for real? I saw a large stack of disposable plastic bowls and lids. I asked for one of those, and you guessed it, refused. She said "they are too expensive to just give out." I was in shock. Did she really just say that to a guest about a disposable plastic bowl? Then from there, if it couldn't get any worse, it goes downhill. I realized the plastic bowls were for oatmeal, so I asked for a small scoop of oatmeal. She chastized me like a child and warned me not to heat my eggs in the microwave with the plastic bowl (I give her credit for foiling my fiendish plot!) Also, one morning during our stay, we were leaving the hotel at 9:15 am and noticed the breakfast had already shut down, 15 minutes earlier than posted. Would also like to mention, the breakfast bar was always either missing a hot food item or it was rationed by the gulag guard because there was not enough for all the guests, as I was told. We have family that just moved to the area and will be making several trips a year to see them. I will have to look for another IHG property as I do not plan on staying here again.
Management Rude, No Integrity
I do not recommend this hotel. They charge you $25 extra per pet, and force you to stay in specific rooms on the first floor (even after you booked a nicer room on Booking.com with no warning), and treat you like a student in a classroom who is misbehaving (as if I should have known better). Despite Management’s admittance to the fact that Booking.com does not clearly state their own policy (or inform you that you cannot have the room you want because of your pets), they are completely unwilling to make it right in any way, or even apologize or be kind. Their responses were not only rude but condescending as well. My family stayed here in January and their experience was amazing; no fees, and they stayed in the room that I booked for them and were treated very well. Something must have happened here between then and now (Covid? New Management?) that made honesty and integrity go out the window. VERY disappointing. Lastly, I informed the manager I probably wouldn’t be able to leave a decent review at this point, to which he/she replied “I do not respond to threats”. LOL.
Front clerk should work at dollar general
Came in to check in after a long day on the water. We were on fumes. Zanbaka met us with the service level of a Soviet eastern block nation during the Cold War. She was not only not helpful, she was abrasive to the point We had to keep looking at each other to see if she was for real. I recommend that you let her work later shifts or Perhaps do breakfast set up in the morning.
