We Had A Nice Stay
Reviewed 13 june, 2020
My wife and I stayed at Wingate in Houma on June 11-12, 2020, while visiting relatives in the area. Our stay was enjoyable. Our studio/suite was very roomy (essentially two guest rooms put together). It could fit a nice size family. The sofa (it was a sofa bed) was very comfortable. The king size bed was soft and comfortable as well. The under-window climate control systems worked quietly in both rooms. The under-counter refrigerator could have been larger for family quests. The spa tub was roomy for one person. Too bad the jets did not work.

I'll be honest, this is the first time I've stayed in a Wyndham. I prefer a Hampton or Hilton. However those hotels were booked and this was my only option. My dissatisfaction started from the booking. After I booked the room the agent tried to sell me a time share. Then when I arrive it was clear the staff could care less. I sat in there lobby a good 15 minutes before someone arrived to check me in, The room was beautiful and the bed was comfortable. However the next morning I attempted to make a cup of coffee in the room and the coffee maker did not work. I went down to the lobby and to my joy they coffee station was open. However the coffee was cold and they did not have all the stuff needed to make a cup of coffee. The front desk lady sat behind the desk on her phone. When I informed her about the condition of the coffee station she said I could go nextdoor to the gas station. Management really needs to address the attitude of the staff. The facility was nice but the people made it a horrible stay, with their careless attitude.
Dont stay here, it's a nightmare

The rooms smell like stale fish and feet. I switched rooms to try and avoid this odor, all rooms smell the same. My children became I'll from staying one night. One of my twins had an accident in the bed, they charged me hundreds of dollars over 70.00 for one night. Managment did not tend to the amounting issues. Terrible service. Homestead suites or microtel are better options. -houma native

Cold Shower and a TV that didn't work.

I booked this hotel for our entire soccer team after a nice stay last year. However, this year was a different experience. Hotel staff was nice, but understaffed for a full hotel. After a shower that was less than warm, I am finally sitting down to chill and watch TV, but it didn't work. The friendly girl working the front desk was very apologetic after she could not figure out what was wrong, but was unable to switch us to another room with a working TV. She gave me the managing company's email and after contacting them, they offered a less than $10 refund. That was a week ago and I still don't have the very small refund or a reply to my last email. I would not go back.
