Great, except for the restaurant……

Reviewed 6 march, 2023

I have been staying in this hotel 2 weeks a month, for 3 months. The rooms are fine and what you would expect. The weakness by far is the bar/restaurant. They are always out of something! Jameson is a bar staple, but they ran out for 2 weeks, had it a week, and it is gone again. Half the menu is off limits at any give time, because they “ran out” and don’t have the food. This morning again it was no bacon or sausage. How do you run out of the only thing you HAVE to have besides eggs? These are not items that are hard to find or hard to get. Very poor food service management.

This hotel is great!

The rooms are spacious, the showers are nice and hot, the beds are comfortable, the customer service from everyone is great, and Brenda, in the kitchen, is so nice! I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice place to stay!

Great Stay at HGI Baytown

Reviewed 23 january, 2023

The hotel was wonderfully staffed, food was great, room was clean. Brenda was the best breakfast server ever, memorizing the names and orders of each person at breakfast. She was a friendly face each morning.

Great location and fairly new property!

Reviewed 13 december, 2022

The staff was very accommodating, rooms and common areas were beyond clean! The location is very close to the interstate. Brenda, Vanessa, and Micheal were super friendly and made my stay very enjoyable. Brenda went over and beyond to ensure I was welcomed.

1/10 Experience + 1/10 Staff

We had a reservation for two-queen beds for the hotel since August 2022 for October 28th for Freaky Deaky Festival. Upon arrival, the sole female employee at the front desk was frazzled from the busy sold-out check-in day and stated she only had king bedrooms available and made a comment it was her first day back and no one told her about the sellout. We showed our confirmation and she confirmed they were sold out with no solution. No offer of compensation for the failure to sell our room away, nor was communication ever sent to us prior to arrival. Your hotel knew of this busy weekend and failed on all levels to pre-communicate the oversell to travelers or work to secure additional rollaway beds for the situation. When the General Manager got on the phone with us, his inexperience showed. He stated there would be “no compensation as demand for the busy weekend is here and you can just cancel if you want”. We were disgusted by this “General Managers” response and how he treated us as customers. At that moment, it was clear we were at select service. If you don’t have what travelers book, you should definitely discount the rate, points, or offer an alternative option. At the very least pre-communication about the situation or get more rollaways in. To make things worse, ONLY one key was provided to our group of “5” as the key machine was down. No offer to have some more sent up afterwords.
