A tired property
Reviewed 11 april, 2022
Just a tired property, in need of updating. The Bistro food was good, but otherwise, this is an average property at best. The rooms have the same 2nd generation decor, coupled with the loud AC unit. The shower head was also coming out of the wall. I will try somewhere else next time.
Marriott Bonvoy should be ashamed!

This is the WORST Marriott property I've ever stayed in. First, when you walk in, you're hit with the smell of open sewer. Next, they hotel only had ONE luggage cart and they let a contractor keep it tied up for hours with a few pieces of flooring that he was installing somewhere else (not at the hotel). The room, like the rest of the hotel, was very shabby, worn, moldy, stained, broken or damaged. They don't have the push pots of coffee for the early morning risers. The people that work there are all sad, like they really hate their jobs. They don't greet the guests with 'Welcome to Marriott!" or anything at all for that manner. They don't recognize the Platinum Elite members like me. (Frankly, that's not a big deal. But, it's customary with all of the other Marriott properties I've stayed at.) I really believe that, if a Marriott corporate rep were to visit this hotel, it would lose it's franchise. It's disgusting.
Advise future customers to find a safer place to stay.

The hotel meets Marriott standards in cleanliness and service. The Marriott staff were all wearing masks and were being careful and thoughtful in their attention to clients. However, The Bistro personnel were not wearing masks and refused to do so. Apparently this is a franchise operated Marriott and does not follow the Marriott guidelines in protecting its personnel or clients. Texas and Beaumont apparently indicated that if employees are vaccinated they may or may not wear masks. I advice future costumers to find another motel to stay in that follows CDC guidelines, particularly now that we know there are other Covid variants coming and we have lost over 700,000 lives in the U.S. with Texas being one of the leading states in deaths per population.
Staff are helpful. Fine place to stay for a night on the road.

The staff here are more than helpful with local businesses and restaurant recommendations. Covid is still affecting this location, so the Bistro was open in the morning only. Luckily there were many choices a short drive away for dinner. My room was pretty clean, including the bathroom. I was noticing an odor that I wasn't used to, but it was outside too, I just had my mask on and didn't realize it. I'd stay here again.
Terrible hotel! Smells like Mildew and rooms are worse

Stayed in room 208 & hotel smelled of Mold & mildew. Discovered the issue why when I woke up the following morning. Rain was pouring into the room through the seal in the window. I have a video of this. Told front desk & was told I’d receive points for my troubles and to date, nobody at the hotel has reached out to me or added additional points for this to my Elite account. I’m Titanium status with Marriott and this is the room they put their highest members in. I have globalist status with Hyatt and I’m placed in the best rooms possible night without having to even ask. Could not be more disappointed with this hotel. I’ve stayed over 250 nights with Marriott in the past year and this room is one of the worst I’ve ever seen.
