A gem in Beaverton
I was in Portland on business I was looking for A nice hotel the quiet location. This is definitely the place. I was far enough away from the city to avoid the chaos and only short 15 minute commute into the city. The hotel is impeccably clean. That is on the first as you notice when you walk in the lobby. The rooms are exactly the same way. The staff is super friendly and great to work with. The hot breakfast is in the morning or worth getting up for. Even with the limited Covid menu there are plenty choices. The gym is larger than you would expect. I spent 30 days at the HGI. And in all that time I can’t think of anything to complain about. I recommend this hotel to a few coworkers who are staying there now.
Quiet and safe
Portland was the last place we wanted to stay overnight, but our car broke down on the way home from taking our daughters to college, so we had no choice. Most importantly to us, the Hilton Garden Inn in Beaverton is located in a safe area, as another review noted. We were not affected by the nightly riots and didn't worry about parking our rental in the hotel's lot. The hotel lives up to the Hilton standard. We were able to reserve a room on the top floor through the app, the room was clean and everything was in functioning order. As Diamond members we received free breakfast and at least the hotel does make an effort to provide breakfast during Covid, which we greatly appreciated. Sadly, we will not be returning to Portland until some sanity has been restored.
Room needed more cleaning
Despite the fact that our room had a sticker on the door signifying it had been clean, I did not feel it was thoroughly disinfected. There was dust on lamps by switches and also on coffeemaker indicating these had not been cleaned in weeks. The doors and door jambs had scuff marks and fingerprints. When they did the remodel, they should have just painted the doors. We are Hilton Gold and so stay in many Hilton Gardens and this one is not as well maintained or meticulous as others. The breakfast was also not up to what we’ve experienced at others....weak coffee, food was disappointing.
Nice stay
Hotel is in a very nice area, close to highway. Very clean and well organized. Large and comfortable rooms and bathrooms. Very good breakfast in the morning. Yes, it is chain and nothing special, but nice one night stay.
Pleasant stay
We stayed her just one night. We wanted to stay linger but with all the riots going on in downtown Portland, we cut our stay short. Fortunately this hotel is in suburban Beaverton and your stay at the hotel won’t be impacted by the riots. Our room was nice and clean and all employees we saw were wearing masks and practicing social distancing. They were also nice and helpful. One little quibble is that the room could have used some more electrical outlets so that we could plug in and recharge all of our devices. I would stay here again.
