The manager was very good and I had no issues with the service. Somehow I lost my steel toes from the back of my truck but it was my own fault for leaving them there. Great service at a reasonable price. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good place to stay. Very nice and approachable people.

Stayed at this hotel this week because of a medical procedure in Bellingham. It was great to be able to park right outside the room. Price was fair, room was clean, breakfast had many choices, food was tasty. Staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. Definite kudos to Iqbal for her help. Thank you. Would stay here again.

Blue in the Face Experience

One hour after we checked out, my husband realizes right after we enter Canada that he left his jacket behind. He had it hung up in the open closet, but the bathroom door must've obstructed the view of the closet when we left. It is a fluorescent bright blue jacket easy to spot. We call immediately. The front desk person, Riley said that they couldn't find it, but to check back again. Okay, it's a fairly small establishment, we just called an hour after we left, yet a bright colored puffy jacket can't be located in the room we just vacated? We call multiple times within the next few days. Riley usually answers and promises to check. No returned calls. Nothing. Until one night, the clerk says that there is a turquoise jacket in the office they found. Turquoise? Are you sure it's not bright blue? We ask if he could send a photo. He says he is unable to. We decide that we will stop by on our way back when we catch our return flight from Bellingham to go home. So we do. We show up 2 hours before departure. Meanwhile my daughter is throwing up after the early morning ferry boat trip from Victoria. We took the 7 am to be sure we had enough time to cross the border, get to the motel, and pick up this jacket. When we get there, we are told that they can't find it. Tess from housekeeping tells us she searched everywhere in the room and other areas. Okay but we called 1 hour after we left the room , then multiple times thereafter and spoke to several people. My husband's family ran a roadside motel for 40 years and they kept everything customers left behind, even their mail. What happened to good old-fashioned honesty? Suddenly a woman named Sarn appears. She reassures us she knows where the jacket is. Great, so can we have it back? No she says, not until Monday and asks us to come back. Whaaaattt? If we lived in Bellingham, we wouldn't be staying at the Morning Glory Inn would we? Why is this so complicated? She says she can get it back to us, guaranteed but will mail it to us. She says she knows where it is. Okay then give it back. Can't she says. This sounds fishy. We have to leave for the airport so there is nothing we can do. We almost miss our flight. I call Sarn on Monday . It's Juneteenth day and Sarn says the USPS is closed but she'll go to UPS. She sends me a photo of the jacket and of the receipt for shipment as proof that it has been sent and that it's the correct item. Finally. Everything is settled until she asks me to reimburse her for the UPS fee of $46. I am told this 'service' it's not typical. What service? Nothing about this ordeal is typical. Are you kidding me?

Run Down sketchy hotel

I stayed here last week after booking online. The room we got smelled like smoke even though I had to sign something saying there was a fine for smoking in the room. I would have asked for a different room but was afraid that it would be worse...the whole place was run down. The heater cover was broken and you could see that the inside of the heater was caked in dirt and dust. The carpet looked like it was 20 years old. There were signs at the front desk saying that you could not use drugs in the room and an additional sign in the room saying that they weren't responsible for stolen items. The whole place was sketchy and definitely not worth a rating of 2.5 stars. I don't expect much...all I care about is a clean place to stay and this was not it. Highly disappointed that I paid $80 to stay here.

I’ve stayed here for years. It’s been up and down, but the service and face to face has always been a plus. New ownership seems to have changed this, save yourself the time and book online at another hotel, they do a song and dance regarding your credit card details including needing multiple on file, requesting an emailed photo of your card (???) and saving photo copies in an easily reached front desk area not guarded or observed. Definitely don’t come here after a bereavement. Won’t offer basic toiletries, won’t even sell a bottle of water after 8pm. Lost me as a client after many years.
