Worst hotel experience

Absolutely horrible. Everything about this place is tired and worn. Needs new carpet, paint, furniture. Even had stains on the room chair. Shower had hair in it. Room smelled musty. Breakfast sausages were burnt. They should have paid me to stay there!!!

The check in process was smooth. The room was enough to accommodate my solo trip. Breakfast was okay. Juice dispensing machine was out of other. They provide a half gallon of orange juice and a half gallon of milk. The shower had a lot of mildew

I checked in at about 2:15pm on September 16th. I had a reservation for one for one night. More than a few things went wrong. I went into my room - the bathroom light was not working. Not a big deal. I was given another room, this time on the 2nd floor. The elevator was not working. Again, not a big deal. The room was not ready…beds were stripped and housekeeping was in the room. I went back downstairs and got another room assignment. Went back upstairs and the room key did not work. Went back downstairs. Got the keys re-worked and went back upstairs. The room was fair - the bathroom fan would not turn off unless you found just the right place to push it in. Usually took 3 or 4 tries to get the fan to turn off. The vanity sink was a single handle faucet. Hot was on the right and cold on the left. Come on…..I have only seen that if I was re-doing my own faucet yet I know that if that occurs, the “fix” is relatively easy. I saw no reason to report the problems with the fan and faucet……I was tired of going up and down the stairs and was afraid that I might get another room that would be in worse shape. On the motel room entrance, there was a sign stating that mask-wearing was required in the hotel. Additional signs were posted in the hotel. No hotel employee (afternoon. night or evening shift) ever wore a mask. I saw at least six hotel employees during my 17 hour stay. For me, not a big deal, I was only in the hospital four nights with Covid in November and have had a shot. I was in Richmond to attend a funeral of a friend who died from Covid. The lack of concern for your customers is disturbing. The hotel air conditioning was functioning…absolutely no discomfort to wear a mask. Please do not send me an email telling me that you will try to do better…that would be unbelievably insulting.

My family and I stayed here one night. The place was right off the highway. Oddly enough, Waze thinks the address is where the Roadway Inn is. If this happens to you, turn around and go back under the highway to find the Sleep Inn. This hotel was clean and offered coffee, tea and hot chocolate in the lobby 24 hours a day. I liked that. Some of the most unpleasant aspects of the Covid craze was that hotels were forced to (or, with the worst hotels, jumped at the opportunity to) take away all those amenities that make a place stand out. Anyway, the room was clean and had all the necessities. I was also very happy to see that the breakfast room was open in the morning for cereal, oatmeal, grits, bagels, yogurt, fruit and pre-packaged muffins and Danishes. The staff I met was very friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

They said it was a “Stink Bug” in my bed, but I’m Still Grossed Out
Opinión escrita el 1 de marzo de 2021
The staff was great, the bed was incredibly comfortable. Quiet. Lots of choices for the continental breakfast, but no juice. Clean. That was until about an hour before checkout when I saw what the manager called a “Stink bug” crawling from behind the pillows over to the tv remote. The manager said it came in with me on my clothes or that it was left behind by the previous guest, which is another concern for anyone concerned with covid. If the rooms are being so thoroughly cleaned with new protocols, how did a “stink bug” stay behind? I was given a half refund for the night, but I am still convinced it was a pest bug. It didn’t have any markings like a stink bug, it didn’t stink when I smashed it, and it left a bloody stain. I don’t think stink bugs feed on anything that has blood; they’re an agricultural insect, not one typically found in this more urban setting. Here are pictures of the bug. I am not an entomologist, so I could be wrong.
