Excellent stay

Reviewed 11 april, 2022

I have just returned from 4 nights at the Leonardo Berlin. I chose this hotel as it was the closest to my brothers apartment near Charlottenburg Palace. The price was extremely good value for money. Wilmersdorfer Straße is a few metres from the from door with all the shops you could want. 20 minutes walk to Charlottenburg palace or 2 stops on the underground which is a 2 minute walk. Our room was a comfort twin on the 4 floor, which was extremely clean and spacious. Tea and coffee making facilities, plus a free bottle of water on arrival. There was a an excellent selection at breakfast. Bacon , scrambled eggs and sausages most mornings. Full selection of continental cheeses, meats and salads. Pasties and breads galore. The ladies in the restaurant were extremely helpful as my mother has trouble walking, they helped her to a seat while I went and got breakfast. Overall an excellent stay and would recommend to anyone. We will be staying here again on our next trip to Berlin

Great!

Reviewed 24 march, 2022

We had the best experience at Leonardo Hotel Berlin. The room was clean, comfortable, well designed, with big windows. Other facilities included hair dryer, modern TV, electric tea kettle as well as complimentary water and teabags. The location of the Hotel was great, too- right next to Wilmersdorfer Straße with lots of shops and places to eat. Our room was cleaned every day- the towels and bedsheets were changed really that often! The reception works 24/7, so us checking out at 1.30 am was not a problem. All the staff we interacted with was very nice! This Hotel is well worth the price, will probably stay here next time I'm in Berlin.

OK for budget

Reviewed 21 november, 2021

Ok budget hotel, but they could be more welcoming at the reception. The room was ok, but it could do with some renovation. Perfect location, with the Savigny Platz just 550 meter away and all kind of public transportation both there and some right outside the hotel.

Punches way above its weight

Perfectly placed for public transport, though a walk of about 10 mins to reach a direct train to the new airport terminal 1&2 that will deliver you to the UK. This hotel is also in reach of Charlottenburg and its gorgeous Palace and grounds and if you are really looking to take in the surrounding area on foot a 30 or 40 minute walk will take you through the edge of the Tiergarten and to the spectacular Victory Column... You may have detected by now that both Kate and I adore Berlin and its atmosphere and people... There are several choices of eatery's close by that should satisfy all tastes... The hotel itself is very comfortable and clean and the rooms nicely furnished and comfortable, both size and space... We had breakfast that is very well prepared and an extensive range and really good quality, served in a clean airy dining room on the first floor. All the staff we encountered from cleaners to managers, reception staff and dining room staff we very helpful, accommodating, polite and professional. As hotels go both Kate and I think that currently they have an excellent formula that places firmly at the top of its category and challenges brands that may think they are superior... Enjoy them anywhere... Thank you Leonardo Hotels... Alan & Kate

Location good , but some things good be improved

Reviewed 25 october, 2021

Pro's: + Location perfectly located at 50meters of subways U2 and U7. A lot of shops and restaurants nearby + Rooms are rather clean, beds are good + Breakfast is variated, employees there are friendly. A suggestion : The buffet is very crowded. As there is only one coffeemachine people are queing up there and blocking the way for people that want to take other breakfast items, so move the coffeemachine outside the small buffetroom so that people are spread more. That would be nice in times without Covid, but especially smart in the current times of Covid. Con's: - The curtains do not cover the complete windows. In the winter time this is usually nota problem, but in summertime bring your own eye covers - I sent an email three days in advance if an early check-in was possible but never got an answer. - People behind the reception are not very friendly at check in , do not take the initiative to show the way to the elevators. For instance : They do not ask : "Do you have any more questions ?" - At check out, the receptionist ask me to pay an openstanding amount for expenses at the bar. I asked if I could see the invoice to check it and then if it was correct I would pay it. No he said I cannot print an invoice. You first have to pay and then you get the invoice and specification. That is not correct. It should be the other way around. First check and then pay, as in all other hotels I have visited so far.
