Very nice stay

Reviewed 31 august, 2018

We had a very nice stay at Pitos Bungalows. The bungalows were very clean and bug/mosquito free. They look through a nice garden with hammocks. Very close to its own private beach. At the beach, there are a few places where you can rent kayaks, take windsurfing classes, and do parasailing. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Their restaurant is reasonably priced and there are other local eating options if you walk along the beach. Definitely recommend it.

Lovely and quiet

I love this place.i used to come to the beach and Café when in Bodrum, and decided to stay a couple of nights this time round.the bungalow is lovely if basic, but you get what you pay for,and this is good value.our hut is clean, and just behind the cafe and beach, breakfast was typical Turkish breakfast, and the staff are lovely.and at night the cafe becomes a fish restaurant, which is just perfect!

the place is in a village and good for a few days relaxing. basic breakfast but no housekeeping. has a nice garden and has its own beach. roosters start making sound early morning so maybe not so good for light sleepers. ok for a max of 3-4 nights.

charming but loud & smelly neighbors

Reviewed 16 august, 2015

It’s an authentic, charming and cosy establishment in one of few last remaining unspoiled, underdeveloped parts of Bodrum CONS:  - international tourists beware, they may not take foreign credit cards for payment
- location is Kadikalesi, about a 10 minute /20 lira taxi ride from downtown Gumusluk
- sandwiched between a farm with roosters, sheep, cattle on one side and the kitchen/ dumpster area of a neighboring resort with loud entertainment on the other side
- the Pitos restaurant is right on the beach but you have to walk through a dumpster/parking area to get to the bungalows -the dumpster belongs to the kitchen of the neighboring resort and is a major eye sore and attraction for flies -the smell of manure from the farm next door is quite prominent in the garden area - don’t expect to go to bed too early cause the entertainment at resort next door is highly audible at night - roosters start crowing at 4 am, makes it difficult to get a good night’s restful sleep
- bungalows seem unfinished
 - there are sizable gaps between log planks that make up the bungalow walls, allowing flies and bugs in, gotta seal these gaps asap
 - there's no place to put your soap, toiletries or hang your towel in the bathroom
- there was no soap or towel in the bathroom when we checked in but we later got some upon request
 - bring your own stick on hooks -or better yet some nails and a hammer, insect repellent and beach towels - don’t expect daily room service
- tiny & smelly bathroom,
- the shower cabin seemed to leak on the wooden bathroom floor after each shower
- wish there were a shower on the beach or somewhere in the outside area to rinse off
 - the beach right in front of the restaurant is quite narrow and can get crowded -not really a con but suggestion: there is a much underutilized bar area right outside the reception; a pool table and perhaps a bar tender on duty would liven up the space tremendously -another suggestion: the decor inside the beach front restaurant is ok yet not exactly on par with the rest of the aesthetic, which is cohesively rustic. The juxtaposition of antique typewriters, Star Wars posters and plastic chairs inside the restaurant seem a bit too eclectic. Perhaps a whimsical mural on the wall; some artsy design with glass beads or mosaic pieces or pottery fragments; a simple hand drawn map of Bodrum etc. would add to the ambiance better.

 PROS:
 - laid back, casual, cosy atmosphere - the log cabins and the grassy, tree lined garden area are quite charming and lovely
-the hammocks and swings outside the cabins are very pleasant and relaxing to hang out late at night
- the handmade log cabins, wooden tables as well as the handwrought metal gate by the reception gives the place a beautifully authentic, rustic, artsy, crafty feel - may hate the cocks crowing at all hours but gotta love the sight of neighbors’ hens with chicks or geese wandering around -the restaurant has its own wood burning pizza oven, they make their own delicious pides, serve a variety of pretty good food -there are other restaurants and a couple of markets within walking distance -there’s a taxi station near by and there are minibuses that run every 15 mins to Gumusluk/ Turgut Reis one can catch from the main road -there are water sports centers within a short walking distance
 - if you'd rather avoid mega resorts and prefer an alternative, simpler affair along the lines of an upscale beachside camping experience with pluming, air conditioning, wi-fi access and catered food, it’s right on - the staff is friendly and helpful, although the manager runs both the restaurant and the bungalows so he is spread pretty thin - reasonable prices compared to resorts nearby
