The location for this beautiful chateau is through an industrial estate and easy to miss! A very busy road is adjacent and a railway line runs behind. We booked a standard room, €90 per night which was located down a dingy, musty smelling corridor and was basic. It overlooked a gravel car park and crazy golf course. We hastily upgraded to a beautiful room at the top of the chateau overlooking the pool, gardens, restaurant and...the kitchen staff rest area! The room was light and spacious and beautifully appointed. A big positive about this hotel is the housekeeper Sarah who helped enormously with our request regarding room change, itemising the bill etc., the receptionist who spoke zero English wasn’t able to help at all with any of this! Whilst we don’t expect a fluent English speaker perhaps a few basic words might be useful for a receptionist in order to help multi lingual guests. As limited french speakers we at least tried! We stayed for four days.. coffee making facilities and water in the room were topped up only on the first day after that you have to ask. For €130 per night we thought that might be a given. The door to the outside area, pool and gardens that guests might expect to use were always locked! You have to walk out the main door and round! Dinner at the chateau was ok, not exceptional and from a very limited menu (2 choices for each course) no vegetarian or vegan choices at all. WiFi is very hit and miss. On accessing WiFi you are requested to fill in a form and then they email you a password...hilarious if you need WiFi to get your password, instant fail! When you do manage to get connected it constantly fails and you have to renter your email and password several times. We gave up as it was such a faff. We have stayed in far less grand hotels in France and had no issues at all getting WiFi. This hotel could be so much more and more customer friendly and orientated. Sadly I don’t think we would come back.
This place needs help - on so many levels.

Greeted by locked doors and no staff, we were allowed into reception to wait as they cleaned our room. No restaurant no bar and all doors to outside locked. We began to feel like we were on the set of a horror movie - it got worse. The guy who was cleaning the marquee in the garden was the receptionist, barman and cleaner !! Our one night stay with family was memorable. Mosquitoes played a big part in our experience. The bills the following morning became victim of a computer system no one could understand. We later received an email asking us to return to the hotel (3 hour drive) to pay our bill. Odd place, odd hotel. Not at all what it claims to be. Beautiful building but dreadful location.

Beautiful Chateau stay

This was difficult to find in the first instance as it's in Bon Encontre rather than Boe! In the middle of an industrial shopping area which was odd, but once you're down the drive you don't notice that. This is a beautiful, well maintained chateau. We almost had it to ourselves the first night which was rather surreal. They seemed unused to tourist guests, more used to business guests I think. Both our rooms were in a fairly newly renovated wing, and were lovely. Modern, clean and one even had double doors outside. Pool very nice. Tennis court hasn't been used for a while so out of use. Unfortunately no bar or anywhere for an evening drink or meal which would have been nice. Breakfast good. Continental affair. Wifi good. Would we stay there again? If you could transport the chateau to another location, then definitely yes. The area of Agen isn't much to talk about. Overall a good hotel, but facilities could be better.
Beautiful chateau average interior

We needed a room before a running race. Found this place on TripAdvisor. The exterior of this once very grand chateau is indeed impressive. We arrived at night and the building was beautifully lit up. By morning one can see supermarkets and shops. Presumably land once owned by the chateau had been sold off. The interior of the hotel is different from its grand exterior. We were given a room on the ground floor. It was certainly clean but honestly could have been a motel room - absolutely no character or charm. We slept really well and heard no noise during the night. The welcome by a casually dressed receptionist was underwhelming although he was nice enough. The bathroom, although big, could do with an upgrade. The price was accurate but I would happily have paid more for a chateau retaining its once splendid character. We didn't have breakfast as it was served a bit too late on Sunday's. WiFi was weak. Parking was free, not secure as such but, it was 600m from the road and up a private drive. In short, if you are looking for a chateau dripping with historical charm you are likely to be disappointed.
