Correct hotel with friendly people. Room most with balcony, well cleaned. Breakfast is ok. Good price quality. Possibility to put bike in skiroom in the basement. Car parking at the back of the hotel. Inside Swimming pool was closed for the moment
No respect for the environment and health of guests.
The staff burns old furniture in the fireplace every day. Near the car park there are a lot of cut furniture prepared for burning. They are making toxic, carcinogenic smog. When you open the window in the room you can feel the smoke. Our stay was quite pleasant, but I leave 1 star because of no respect for the environment and health of guests.
Too loud to rest, bad service
We stayed here for one night after cycling over Passo di Gavia. We asked for a quiet room with a marital bed (one big mattress). We received a room with two small mattresses which we discovered later. The bed was clean, but not the room. The worst happened when at 9 p.m. they had live music which was not announced, volume up to almost limit. When we asked for regulating the volume down (which was declined), we saw many people dancing in the main hall. We asked how long this event will last, the person at the reception said "I don't know, maybe 11 p.m.". The breakfast the next morning was bad and almost nothing left over, no re-fill happened, service was really bad and unfriendly. When we asked for the bill and asked for a reduction due to the loud night, the lady said "you always must be aware there is music until midnight, at least" and refused any reduction. She really did not care. Not suitable for bikers.
First of all let me say the staff were great. My room was drab but functional. There was no safe or lockable drawer. To get to the lift up to Bormio 2000 you have to walk down the street maybe 10 minutes. The bus stop for day trips to Santa Cateruna and San Colombano is also here. You therefore have to walk UP the street to the hotel if you return to the gondola base. You can ski to nearer the hotel IF the conditions permit. The main problem with the hotel is the food which is appalling. We ate out a few times, there are very good restaurants in the town e.g. Al Filo and Enoteca Guanella. Also the old Roman baths just outside the town are worth a visit in the evening.
Staff are very friendly and hotel has a perfect location. You can reach anywhere by feet. Room is not luxury but always clean. Breakfast could be better. Also should know that Bormio is better for skiing not for snowboarding. Also free wifi!!!
