Poor Service and uncleanliness and ant infestation

This hotel says it takes cleanliness seriously, however one of our rooms had live ants all around the air conditioner, the other had a 100+ dead bugs in the window area. One room the toilet wouldn’t stop running and clock was not set correctly. Front desk staff response to these issues were “ we are short staffed and we will try to get to it”. We needed to be rather assertive to get the issues resolved. No other rooms available. At checkin no one told us we needed to ask for full service, other wise they just put towels on a bar. Even after asking for full service, they didn’t make beds, bring in any cups (after they threw the others away), or vacuum the rooms. When asking for some glasses they said that it was a housekeeping issue and she was front desk, after complaining she went in the back and found a couple. Breakfast was a joke, once items were gone they didn’t put any more out. On Sunday they didn’t have breakfast at all, reason: the breakfast attendant didn’t show up, snd no one else could do it. Coffee was from the day before. No manager available until January 4th, after our departure. The staff could care less about the guests, always said it was someone else’s issue ant their apologies were less than sincere. Overpriced, poor service and not clean. I would never stay here again or recommend it.

Dirty and with Bugs and Lazy Staff!

This is easily one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed at. My family and I stayed for three nights in two rooms. The carpet in the hallways and rooms is dirty. Both rooms were inhabited by ants. One had numerous dead ants along the window sill, and the other had about fifty live ants crawling along the air conditioner and entire wall. The best they could do was spray the area. Another room was not available at the time as the hotel was sold out. Although the ants did die, housekeeping did not vacuum the floor, so dead ants littered the floor throughout the rest of the stay. One of the rooms also had a faulty toilet. Housekeeping was problematic as well. No housekeeping was performed the first night. Only new towels were laid out. Upon inquiry, the front desk noted that housekeeping is only performed upon request. This was not communicated whatsoever upon check in, which would have prevented the confusion and annoyance. I requested full housekeeping for the other two days. The bathroom was cleaned but the bed was not made nor any vacuuming done (see dead ants above). Some of the front desk workers were shockingly awful. After requesting the toilet get fixed and the ants addressed, two younger staff stated they were busy and weren’t sure if they could even get to it in 24 hours. This was overheard by a manager of some sort, who addressed these issues fairly quickly. Additionally, in a separate inquiry regarding the housekeeping, the front desk staff stated she didn’t have anything to do with housekeeping and couldn’t do anything about it. A simple phone call to housekeeping would have sufficed. So lazy and rude! Management seemed to be the only workers that would get anything done. Needless to stay, we’ll never stay here again and would recommend that anyone considering a stay in this area find accommodations elsewhere.

The WORST!!!

I have never stayed at a worse hotel. The manager, "Erik" was rude, unprofessional and threatening. The breakfast was sparse, promised fruit which never came. Told that pancakes are a hit and miss. Tables were dirty and unsanitary. The room was dark and the beds and pillows uncomfortable. Booked 2 queen beds but beds were "full" and staff lied, one said all beds are "full", another said they were all "queen" size, which is it?? Definitely not queen!! The pool area was shuttered, management said for "inspection". Nothing said on website or at check in. The staff was uncooperative, a lot of noise in hotel, the staff couldn't care less. I would rather sleep in my car than stay at this hotel. They treat their guests like dirt!! DON'T STAY HERE!!!!

Disappointed

In town for a junior golf event, we regularly stay at Holiday Inn Express with great satisfaction. This location was disappointing and unacceptable. Our original room (311, I think) had a faulty toilet, and we told the front desk immediately. Nothing was done, and by the time of our second evening, the toilet stopped working all together. They moved us into another room (430, I think), which was a handicapped room that was sort of halfway put together. The beds slept and the toilet worked (thank goodness) but there was a strange window shade and electrical cording remaining. It seemed like a room they don't normally use, but they put us in it because they maybe didn't have anything else. On the same maintenance track, the ice machines were not working on both the 3rd and 4th floors and the carpeting was filthy throughout the floors. It seemed like there were maintenance issues all over the place and this is an area that needs lots of attention. As if this wasn't enough, breakfast was not served in a timely manner on our first morning. There was nothing at 7am so we went elsewhere as we were on a schedule. Overall, it was just a giant bummer and we hope our next IHG/Holiday Inn Express will be back to normal. We would not consider staying in this location again, unfortunately, especially considering all the recent negative reviews on TA... should have checked here first!

Room for Improvement

Overall the hotel is very clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. Lobby is a bit sterile. Room is average and the bed was comfortable. Bathtub floor was slippery and the safety rail was on the wrong side of the stall. The pool was closed for repairs(??). Fitness center was nice but having towels, cold water and tv's that work would have been nice. Breakfast was barely adequate. No bread, bagels or fresh fruit. Sometimes no milk. Price was at the low end so you get what you pay for.
