Short Break

Reviewed 17 september, 2022

Just returned from a lovely 3 night night break in Brugge. Did the 20 minute walk from the station and arrived at the hotel by 2pm. Met by friendly welcoming staff who checked us is and said our room (112) was ready. Room was street facing, which was a little bit noisy from around 7am. But it was really nice, clean with comfy beds and warm duvets, tea/coffee making facilities. Plenty of storage space and a well equipped bathroom with tolietries. Breakfast was really good, with hot and cold choices. Staff really friendly, welcoming and helpful. We had a problem with our safe which would not open. Spoke with reception and they sent someone within a few minutes to sort it. Location is perfect, about a 5 minute walk to the Markt Square. Would defo stay here again when visiting Brugge.

Room cleaning needs attention, otherwise very good

Reviewed 12 september, 2022

We stayed at the Hotel Aragon for 3 nights in early September. It's in a very convenient position for sight-seeing and in a quiet street, exceptionally quiet at night. Room was small (as expected), with only a few inches between the end of the bed and the wall, but was well-equipped apart from that with kettle/tea/coffee, a safe, fridge and usual bathroom toiletries. Breakfast very good. Our only issue was that on both evenings when we returned after a long day sight-seeing our room had not been fully cleaned. The first evening the cleaner seemed to have given up half-way through and left a duster, bed not made, bin not emptied etc. The second evening the cups and glasses were unwashed. Each time we complained to reception and they sorted it out, but also seemed unaware that we had complained previously, in spite of promising it would not happen again. There was someone different on reception each night and they didn't appear to have contact with each other. We may have just been unlucky with the cleaner because apart from that it was a very good comfortable hotel.

Overall good Hotel but we had an issue on departure

Reviewed 8 september, 2022

If it wasn't for the issue we had when leaving I'd have left a 4 star review. On arrival the Reception team were excellent, so warm & friendly with tips about where to go to avoid the crowds which makes for a great feeling when you enter a hotel. Lobby & rooms were spotlessly clean. Room decor is dated however well looked after and exactly as pictured online so no surprises. I can't speak for all the rooms but ours was small, this is worth bearing in mind if you have an issue with small rooms, we didn't mind as we spent little time there & don't mind a cosy feel. Shower did go in and out of hot & cold but it was bearable so I wouldn't mark it down for that personally. Bed was super comfortable, air con kicked in quickly. There is a fridge but it's full of mini bar items so you'll need to remove those if you wish to store your own items, we put a do not disturb sign on our door as we only stayed two nights and didn't want housekeeping to go to the trouble of making up our room and we were left a bag of toilet rolls and fresh towels just incase which I thought was a nice touch. Location is great, took 20/25 minutes to walk from the station which I'd fully recommend if you can as it's a beautiful walk. Once you're at the hotel though you're very well located for everything else Bruges has to offer. Now for the negative - I'd like to start this by saying I hate to complain when the other staff members were so brilliant. There's a sign on reception kindly asking that if you're due to leave early in the morning you settle your bill the evening before, which is exactly what we did. Upon dropping the keys off early the next morning we were chased down the street and shouted at to come back by the lady on reception as she thought our bill hadn't been settled. This was obviously embarrassing as we'd paid, we gave our name and assured her our bill was absolutely covered, even telling her the exact amount we paid but she was still trying to get us back into the hotel, this resulted in us almost missing our train. Such a negative experience for what was otherwise a positive stay.

Great Hotel, Great Location

Reviewed 4 september, 2022

Everything about Hotel Aragon was perfect. The room was well equipped, and we even had a small balcony which was lovely. The staff was great - everyone from the front desk to the wait staff was helpful and very pleasant. The breakfast was excellent with many choices for both hot and cold. The location is close to the Markt square which we found very convenient and within walking distance of everywhere we needed. The only exception was the train station, which was a 9-10 euro ride in a cab. Highly recommend.

Excellent hotel!

Reviewed 3 september, 2022

We recently stayed for 3 nights. The hotel is in an excellent location. The rooms are nice and clean. The breakfast was very good with great selection. The coffee could have been better, but the food was great. I would definitely stay here again if we return to the beautiful city of Bruges.
