This is one of the best hotels that I have ever stayed at. The staff are outstanding! Love the atmosphere, it is so peaceful, clean and cosy. Great location wonderful breakfast, perfect for a quiet few days away. Thank you so much for everything.

Very grand

We stayed for 3nights , beautifully presented hotel with a very grand style , our bedroom 213 was absolutely stunning, situated on the back of the hotel not a stunning view but we didn't come to sit in the room ! Was very quiet, nice toiletries included and cleaned to a high standard couple of little things water not replenished in fridge not enough milk or tea ( but I just got some from breakfast display ) strange to find no kettle but our friends told us next day it was on bottom shelf at the back of the wardrobe lol we had used the Nespresso machine , no deal breaker . Breakfasts were extensive eggs scrambled and boiled , sausage , beans etc beautiful pastries , cheeses and meats nobody is going to go hungry all well cooked and presented ,all the staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful .we were very satisfied with our stay and would definitely return

Great situation

This is indeed a grand old place with charm. the whole place was very quiet. My room was a premier room on the third floor which was well furnished. I It was very clean. Be aware that some rooms on the third floor although advertised as having a shower have a sloping ceiling which makes standing up to have a shower well nigh impossible. I know this because I moved rooms.

Great location

Stayed 3 nights recently and overall a good experience, For me the buffet breakfast ( not the hot food ) was excellent, especially the bread Poor selection of wine - no Sauvignon B Small issue at the bar A) Most of the time you had to go to reception for somebody to serve you )B Sometimes they used a measure for spirits , sometimes they free poured, one time they had started to free pour and then had to get a fresh bottle, added a very small amount to the drink they had started , when I asked for some more to be added the girl got very defensive , poor customer service , this on our third night when they knew us

Misadvertised rooms

Reviewed 10 august, 2021

The booking shows that you can book separate beds in a room. That is a lie, there are no separate beds, but separate matresses. When booking a twin bed room, I expect to have my own bed, not to share bed with a friend. The front desk staff showed absolutely no understanding that they are falsely advertising a room type that they don't provide, or offer any solution for those that don't want to sleep in the same bed.
