45min to check-in (with a prepaid booking!)

Reviewed 21 may, 2022

Checkin time is taking ages (45min for them to "find a clean room" for me). As I was waiting, a grown man was playing a computer game, a teenager was walking around half-naked, and a bus was parked outside, pointing to the hotel catering to Polish tourists on a budget. The hotel either has a horrible computer system or no manager to speak of. 4 staff members were at the reception; only one could be seen actually working. By the way - Danubius, a hotel group behind some of the not-so-good Budapest hotels, is no longer managing this one. The hotel is located on the left bank of Danube where few hotels are. No need to stay here unless you have no other options.

My sister and I were robbed at check out. We had breakfast and carried with us our suitcases and bags. While we were eating, our bags were stolen in just few seconds. In them were all our documents, money and mobile phones. We went to the reception where they did not want to return the cameras or call the police. We do not recomend this hotel !

out of fashion

A disappointing experience. Very old-fashioned hotel, with old furniture, a bathroom that leaks, and heating that beats all night. Poor and slow serving at the breakfast buffet: exposed food quickly disappears and is often not supplemented.

Would return over and over again!

Stayed here for 3 nights - Friday to Monday - and had a fantastic time. Absolute perfect location, Hotel is situated right across from tram lines and bus stops that bring you right into the city, as well as beside a 24hr garage for any drinks etc you may need during the night! The room was basic but spacious, the bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in - and absolutely huge! The views from our room on the 11th floor were also a huge bonus, absolutely breathtaking! Staff were very friendly also! Overall, if we were to return to Budapest (which is very likely) I would most definitely go back to this hotel, we had a great trip!

Danubius Hotel

Comfortable hotel, easy to get there. Public transport in front of the hotel. Good breakfast. Walking to the metro was 10 minutes. Overall, there is a good balance for the price compared to the service
